Got a call from a heavily accented man has called my cell every 10 mins, gives his name as John Smith and I should call an attorney named Danny Smith stating I am being sued when pressed he gets nasty I will be reporting him and this number

As everyone has mentioned I also received a call from what seemed as Hindu man.. He was trying to get info from me, telling me I was being sued for a not paying some cash advance. Totally bogus and I have a police record being made against this #

The same man that the previous posts discribed has called both my cell and my work # leaving a message on my cell saying that I need to have my lawyer contact him immediatley or else the situation will unfold on me and good luck. The accent sounds African, for I have a good friend that is from Africa and his accent is very similar.

he is harrassing my sister phone and her job...he said he is from the federal law department..the state of california is suing her for a loan from cash advance and that she needs to contact a lawyer.

i just contacted him ..he said his name was dan wilson..i told him i googled the number he was calling from and i was reporting him to the police...his response was i'm sorry and i will not call again!!!

This guy leaves me the same message lawyer bla bla bla......i called back monday(today)
I confronted him whats this all about....puts me on hold..... Tries to get my numbers job and home and and such told him what for? Whats this about?  So....he doesnt pick up anymore or just hangs up when I call.....figures...

We were called by this number and was claiming to be the CA DA Justice office...they quoted my social and keep laughing as we try to call back and find out what the heck is going on..they won't tell us nothing but they will be taking money out of our accout since they know my social..They threatined to have me arrested and would not give information on exactly what is going on and even mentioned if I have checked my credit report for fraud which is what this case is..Please help

These fraudulent people also hung up on me and told me that they will contact my job as well as put warrant out for arrest and told me what my social was and address and employer information which clearly is not something anyone would know unless they are trying to steal identity..they laughed when I told them we would call the police and hung again..Justice must served on this matter as these people are speaking in Indian accent..This is clearly a scam and is claiming to take out $445 out of our account

Called this am saying he was James Martin. Also called my daughter's cell phone with same message and very heavy accent. Maybe from Phillipines? But for me or my retained attorney to call  back and that this is extremely time sensative matter. What I dont understand is why hasn't anyone done anything about it?

I just recieved the same call that you guys are talking about he proceeded to tell me all the same things i owed money to a cash advance in california and that they made a lawsuit claim against me in the courts over there. he said i was contacted on about this matter and there was never any responce from me i told him that i was never contacted by anybody on this matter and i wanted him to send me documention showing me were i owed this and what the date was it was suppose to have happen and he said he could contact the client and inform them that i was never notified so he put me on hold and came back on about 5 mins and said ok the client is willing to work with you you have to fax over a letter stating that you was never notified and that you will take care of paying them the balance. when he said that i stopped and said send me the info over the fax and i will contact them myself to correct the problem. He started to ugly with me and i got ugly back and he said don't call this umber ever again i said i did't you called me. and i hung up

This is crazy i got a call today stating i owed 300 dollars to cash advance network and they are from tristate attorneys office i will be reported as fraud to my employers and they were going to send my papers to the court i never had a payday loan for 300 dollars in march they are crazy

this is a land line why isnt there anything being done about this, hermosa california. he told me i should just pay him 5200 dollars.

i got the same call and i nevered got a payday loan i was scared somebody was trying to trick me

I received a phone call as well from a man named Dan Wilson who claims to be a lawyer from the department of lagal Affairs. He told me that i owe for a loan wich i never received. He also told me that I would have to go to court in San Francisco and if I did not show up then they would issue a warrant out for my arrest. And they would contact my emplorer and that i would get more information when i hear from my employer. I was almost in tears until i came across this blog.

Do not worry. I called the police and filed a report against this phone number and the Police Officer instructed me that under any circumstances, do not send them money. And that if indeed you do receive a court subpoena make sure it is legitimate. Do not give them any information other than what this Dan Wilson or whoever already has. Most likely you filled out an online cash advance application which was sould to many cash advance companies and this is how your information was acquired. It's fraud. Respond to it like fraud.

I did some research and something can be done to stop these people from other possible victimizing events. Please do not hesitate to report them to The Federal Trade Commission at (202) 326-2222. With just one complaint is not enough to take it seriously. Please help me to help you do something about it.

My mother recieved a bogus call as well.. same as stated as above. my advice to all is stay away from any pay day loans... It will only create problems like this.

I too have been receiving calls from a Dan Wilson stating that I am being sued for not paying a cash advance. I questioned him on when this was suppose to have taken place. He would not answer. I further explained that I checked my bank statements and no monies was deposited on the dates that he claims. When I call I ask how much this loan is for and I've been told 2 different amounts each time I call. The 1st was $445.33 and the 2nd time was $395.33.
I was so upset and I thought I would google to see if anyone else received any calls, and lo and behold, I see alot of other people are being scammed.

I did the same thing, and he said" Oh I think I got the wrong person" lol....
