Claimed to have a credit for my mortgage that must be picked up in 48 hours - obvious scam (to me) - told me to call 877-778-3852. Reported to the Do not call list.

Robocall claiming my mortgage had been approved and gave number to call back immediately.  Obvious scam.

I get calls often that stop ringing before my answering machine picks up.  I suspect many are from FAKE caller IDs.  Before I got caller ID, I received MANY calls for an Alvin Johnson.  I was the lucky one that got Alvin's old number more than TWO years ago.  I always told them that I did not know Alvin or where he was.  I told them to stop calling me.  They keep calling anyway.
If the answering machine does pick up, all I hear are "boiler room" sounds.
Did I mention that they may be using FAKED caller IDs?  The numbers do not ever seem to go to a legitimate business when using Google to search.

I have not answered the call.

got a call on my cell today that was from 310-448-2960.  When I answered it was a recording that said the number you have reached is not in service.  Reporting to FTC.org
Texting number my usual statement:  
You do not have permission to call my cell phone. Unsolicited phone calls cost 100 dollars and doubles with each call. This is added to any legal fees it takes for me to recover these charges. This is your one and only notice.  Thank you have a nice day.

This is New Hope Financial, a California based scam. They use an auto dialer to call. If you answer they hang up so you'll call back. If your answering machine picks up a recorded message will play. "This is Debra / Debbie, I have some government credit for your mortgage" and more BS. Don't fall for it it's a scam. Report them too the FTC.

Received several calls from this number.  Called back and asked to be removed from their list and the representative answering said I did not have to be so rude and without any further words transfered to elevator music. I called back asking to speak to his supervisor and he said he was the supervisor.  I asked for his company name and he refused initially and threatened me that the calls were being recorded and he could file harassment charges because I keep calling.  Only called twice.  He finally gave the name of New Hope Financial and then hung up. Gentleman (and I use this term loosely) was very rude!!!
