got a call from 310-474-7456 claiming that they were Ihe Bank of America Student Loan Department, they are not, they want to verify your social security number and want personal information, I called the B of A to alert them of miss representation

I just got a call from them as well claiming they are Wachovia, which I do have a loan through.  But they asked if I was still in school.  I would think that my loan company would know that information, seeing that I've been out for years now.  I asked "shouldn't you know that" and she said "well plans change all the time, but if you want to cease the call, I'll note that" ... so I said thank you and she hung up.

Trying to solicit college loans.  I already checked with my son's loan company, and all is well.  These telemarketers are trying to fool you into switching over to them.  Imagine what a headache that would be with two sons in college and thank god I called Mefa & Federal Plus Loans and I reported this scam. Will also report to do not call list.  I called them back and told them to remove me from there list.  FRAUD!
