- jan| 1 replyCaller said I won a contest and to claim prize I had to agree to 6 free magazine subscriptions and a diamond watch in exchange for 1 weekly magazine subscription that would cost $3.95 a week. Caller never said what the company was or what the contest was that I had apparently won.

- bridgetCaller said I won a contest and to claim prize. all I have to do is sign for a registered mail piece. I refused the magazine subscription, as i already have too many. Caller never said what the company was or what the contest was that I had apparently won. She said I was nominated by banks and I am in good credit card standings (I am not).
- SaraCaller asked for my husband. He was not in so caller asked when he would be home. I told her that I was his wife but she only wanted to talk to my husband. Call was from a land line in CA somewhere. I asked caller if it was a sales call & asked how did she get our unlisted#. She said that it was not a sales call but didn't answer about how she got our number. I asked again how she got our private number. She only anwsered that it "was not a sales call". When I asked again, she hung up. However, the same number called back in 30 secs. I let the answering machine pick up this time but no message was left. This was weird and I was fixing supper so I programmed the number into my call block function.
Our home number is on both of our State's No Call and the National DNC Registry. Our home# is listed with our bank's Customer Service option that they may NOT give it out to their merchants, ... who used to call us "on behalf of" our bank, . . . but the sales calls would be about life insurance or some other sales pitch. These types of calls were very frequent before I changed status with the bank. But the default is that your number is public to sell as long as you're a customer with the company or bank, etc. Sneaky.
This particular caller today had no business calling us so I call-blocked, as I said. She was unprofessional, not forth-coming. These types of phone schemes are ridiculous.- Caller: Publishing Co supposedly

www.reversedmobile.com/310-539 - Cached - cynthia pricesome "crack" junkie named "Lynetta" called me from that number (310) 539-7191; when I told her I was not interested and was not going to "mark my calendar" for the give a way, she called me a "weirdo" and said "what the hell is wrong with you?" - Cynthia PriceHere is the low down on the phone number (310) 539-7191 from my caller ID who came up as "Ellis Island Funding Inc" - I looked them up on the California Secretary of State's Web Site:
Entity Name: ELLIS ISLAND FUNDING INC.
Entity Number: C3040721
Date Filed: 05/14/2008
Status: ACTIVE
Jurisdiction: WYOMING
Entity Address: 25616 NARBONN_AVE
Entity City, State, Zip: LOMITA CA 90717
Agent for Service of Process: THERESA FLORES
Agent Address: 25616 NARBONN_AVE
Agent City, State, Zip: LOMITA CA 90717
Like I said above, some "crack" junkie who identified herself as "Lynetta" calling for "Publishers Clearing House" got ignorant with me when I told her I was not interested in her magazine subscriptions. The "consumer fraud division" of the secretary of state's office can take your complaints.- Caller: Ellis Island Funding Inc./ Publishers Clearing House

- K VansiceI got a call on my cell phone from a woman who claimed to be from "Publishers" who said she was making a "courtesy call". I told her I wasn't interested. Her response was, "How do you know? You don't even know what I'm offering." I answered that it didn't matter because I couldn't afford ANYTHING. Then she said, "I'm not selling anything." When I flat out asked her "WHAT DO YOU WANT?", she hung up.
- Caller: "Publishers"
- Theresapeople said i was entered in a contest, and then when i told them i didn't have any debit or credit cards they said they was going to fax a report to my bank and my bank account closed the bank account that which my disability goes into. so my daughter in law called them back and told them they didn't have any right to my account and she tried to get them to tell her what kind of company they was and they wouldn't tell her all we know is what showed up on the caller id.

- MIKE TWOLIVESTWOFLY replies to Hank M.ADD ***-539-7153 (Not sure of the area code as my caller ID has first 3 numbers messed up), sounds like the same scam though, after my wife said not interested and hung up they called back and I answered, they said they were filing a "NON-COMPLIANCE REPORT WITH CHASE BANK WITHIN 3 DAYS" WTF, We're complaining to CHASE.

- RonThis person claims that i was in good standing with my credit card company and that I was entered into a sweepstakes. Asked her how she got my number and her response was that they have the same computers the banks have. Told her I wasn't interested and to loose my number.

- Robin EspinosaI accepted the magazine subscription offer that "Ruby" offered and was expecting a debit of $19.95 for the first month, As explained to me, the first months price had to be paid now and then I would be billed for $39.90 for the next 24 months to pay for the 4 yr, agreement. I looked at my account which was charged and fould that $39.90 was charged. I tried to call and received a recording that the 888 number dialed was not correct. I tried to call the number ( (310) 539-2312, which was given to me by Ruby to call and chat if I just wanted to (310)539-7190. No answer, I called the number that she called me from, which she told me I could also call her on and I still didn't get anyone to answer. I called and cancelled my card number as the last resort.
