The caller identified himself as "Steve Martin", but he spoke with an Indian accent. He said that I was involved in a U.S. Treasury "enforcement action". He said that if I did not call him back, I would be called before a magistrate, and would be breaking the law. In other words, this is an IRS scam.

Got the same call. It comes up "Compton CA" on my caller ID. He left the exact same message.

I just received the same call on my home phone.  I called it back on my blocked cell phone, and when I asked for "Steve", the person said that he was Steve's colleague, and I could talk to him.  He also had an Indian accent.  I told him that my daughter worked for the federal government (truth), and that her agency very much would like to talk with him.  He asked me why I called him back and then hung up on me.

I just got the same message - obviously a scam.

"Steve Martin", Indian Accent, has been repeatedly calling my home phone number with threats of an "IRS Enforcement before a Magistrate".  I finally called back today from another number and got his "colleague" and threatened him saying that I would report him to the IRS because impersonating a Treasury official is a federal crime (true).  He wasn't happy.

I got the same call a few minutes ago.  I called Indian-accented "Martin" back, and after I listened to his speech regarding my 2011 tax return, I told him that I was going to report him to the IRS and he hung up.  Total Scam!

I actually reported this to the IRS yesterday when I got the call. I did speak with a "Peter Oscar" and after I told him to send me a letter by certified mail he became angry and told me that he would take my hanging up as a refusal to square things up and would send officers to my home and that there was already a warrant out for my arrest. I told him to send the officers. He screamed "fine" and then I hung up.  I could see elderly people falling for this scam. It's a shame there are crappy people out there.

i received same phone call, same message.  i called back and some indian lady said "steve martin doesn't live here anymore, stop calling"  i guess they don't like to be called everyday either.

got the same IRS call. I had some time so I called back. Told "Steve" I was scared and what should I do.  I had this idiot on the phone repeating himself and hanging on for 27 minutes while I watched Family Feud. If you have the time screw with them. My wife was laughing so hard she cried.

Ditto...I wonder why the Treasury department hasn't investigated these calls!

Steve Mardin called me today at 4:56pm and left the same message that Paul received.
Caller ID should now be a safety precaution, especially for senior citizens.

Someone tries to pull this scam every tax season. Unfortunately, an elderly person will fall for it and they will get upset and be used as an ATM. These people are scum!!
