- Sam| 3 repliesCredit Scam.
An automated call advising users that they have been selected to lower their credit card interest rate. User can either press key to speak with an agent, or 2 to stop receiving these notifications.
Problem is that they never specify the Bank or the card. Just Visa (or Mastercard) which most of the general public has. Once you start speaking with the live person, they want all your personal identity information.
BEWARE! this has all the tell-tale signs of a indentity theft scam.- Call type: Telemarketer
- AntSame as stated above. Recorded message from an unidentified bank offering a lower interest rate. I didn't listen to the whole message, but it is unwanted spam.

- J.B.Here in Montgomery, AL. Just got a call from them. Did not recognize number, so I didn't answer.
- ShayI just got a call from them. They were stating that they would lower my interest rate. They wanted to give me the first 4 digit of my card number while I verify the rest. I refused to give him the number and asked to speak to a supervisor. He got on the phone with a very convincing story. I gave them the rest of the numbers and then they wanted the last four of my social security number. That's where I drew the line. I hung up and they called me back 4 times. I called my credit card company who told me that they didn't call and that it was FRAUD! I ordered a new card and I'm filing a complaint. Just wanted to put it out there in case someone else gets this call.

- Reine310-821-8963. Ditto what Sam said above. Cold call scam offering to "lower your credit card interest rates". I hung on them, and will continue to do so. If these people call you, DON't give them ANY of your information at all. Tell them to remove you, and not to call again.

Similar to other calls I receive frequently from different numbers on the same subject, assuring me, "...please consider this your final notice..."
** Yeah, I wish.**
Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business practices, doesn't it?
I also have to laugh at their poor grammar, particularly the singular "there's" with the plural noun "problems"...
[female voice] "Hello, this is Heather at Account Services and we're calling in reference to your current credit card accounts. There's no problems currently with your accounts, it is urgent, however, that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate to as little as 6.9%. Your eligibility expires shortly so please consider this your final notice. Please press 1 now on your phone to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate. Or press 2 to discontinue further notices. Thank you and have a great day."
