    Received a message from an Indian accent saying this is Officer Ryan Morris calling about an urgent matter...have your attorney or you call back.  I called back and on a voice mail left a message I would hand over the number to police for being stalked.

    I can't understand the purpose of the call.  He didn't ask for money but asked me to call back at the same number and speak to McClain Marshall.  When I called, got a voicemail ????  So can't figure out what the intent of his call was?

    From what I have heard through a news report, the call takes place from overseas and they claim that money is owed to the IRS. They go on to tell the person that they should get a Green Dot money card or they will be a arrested.

    No matter what the case is, the IRS never calls people.

    I got the same call from Ryan with Indian accent.  He left a message.  I read all the scam reports so I won't be calling back.  Next time I am going to pick up and tell them I am going to report them to the police.

    Got the call today.  Same thing, indian accent with an american name (can't remember it).  He asked for my attorney's name and number.  I asked him why, he wouldn't even explain why he wanted the information.  I knew it was a scam so I really let him have it, but he continued to call back because I kept hanging up on him.  So annoying.

    I received a call today with the same thing a guy with an Indian accent and American name. He told me he was an attorney and that the company he represents was going to sue me for fraud over an internet loan from February 2013. I did not take any loan from this company and I immediately looked up the phone number only to find it listed as a scam. I told the caller that I felt this was a scam and I would not talk to him anymore.  Crazy!

    You may have been subjected to something like scam  #25, as described at

    That site also shows how other 800notes visitors have reduced the number of telephone scams and telemarketing calls they receive.  (Links to Amazon's phone blocker devices and apps, as well as government reporting sites are also provided).

    I have received numerous calls from this number and can barely understand what they are saying when they DO leave a message.
    The last message I received (today) said "they need me or my ??? attorney to call - this is EXTREMELY time sensitive."  He said his name was ?? Arobin Baker and he gave the hotline number 310-868-8391.  He then said, "Do not try to disregard this message and if you do not return the call, and I don't hear from your attorney, then the only thing I can do for you is wish you a good luck with this situation badly and hold on to you.  Goodbye and may God save you.

    Extremely irritating!!!

    They are scammers/extortionists working out of India.  They pretend you have a disagreement with the IRS and that they are IRS people.  They  then threatened to have you arrested unless you pay them x amount of money to make it all go away.  Total scam.

    See:  http://www.irs.gov/uac/Don%E2%80%99t-be-Scammed-by-Fake-IRS-Communications

    Call 'em up and tell 'em you know it's a scam and also tell 'em to go to hell!  Well, that's what I'd do.

    Let this criminal know if he calls back you are aware he is attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt, are onto his scam and have NO intention of paying him anything.

    Here is what the FTC has to say about fake debt collectors:

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    This # called me 2x today the second time I answered and an Indian accent was speaking. He said that I had committed fraud and he needed my attorney's name and #. I asked what this was about and he didn't have any information and I had to call some other # (didn't get it). I told him to quit contacting me and I called him a scam artist and some not so other polite names. I blocked the # from my iPhone.

    I got a call from this number twice today from a Nathan Brown. 2nd time I called back. As all the other postings have stated, he has an Indian accent that you can barely understand. He had the last 4 digits of my SSN and told me I had committed fraud and some other things I could not understand, but he did throw out something about the Federal Trade Commission. He wanted my lawyers name and number. I told him I was a lawyer, haha little does he know I was really just throwing his own game back at him. I stated asking questions such as his name again, company name (American Legal Service), address etc. He told me all the information I needed. I then told him I was going to hung up and call the Federal Trade Commission to verify the company information and that if he was not who he said he was and the company was not real, I was going to report him to the FTC and my state attorney general office. Needless to say I got hung up on real quickly. However I really am going to call them in the morning to report this, seeing that its 5:40pm CST. Please everyone be smart and ask questions, get the information and report them.

    Just got a call as well. Stated to be american legal something idk. Told me it was being used and wanted to give me his supervisors name and number to resolve the issue. I told him to tell me the company allegedly suing me. And he of course would not answer the question. I refused to call any number because I've heard so much lately about identity theft and credit card info being taken. Reporting this guy.
