I have a new phone number that I have not used for any public transactions. I got this message:

"Your entry last month has WON! Go to http://bestbuy.com.wgmc.biz/?claimid=912 and enter your winning code "6655" to claim your free Best Buy gift card"

Since I hadn't entered any contests, and this number is not public, I figured this could be a random scam/phishing attempt.

I googled the number and text, and from other reports, it looks like this is scam of some sort.

always be aware of the possibilities of scams!

I just received the same message from the same number AT 3:38 AM!  I don't think a legit contest would notify a winner at that time in the morning.  And NO I never entered any contest.

i am claim my prize "6655" my gift certificate. my number is 505-701-5434. text please.

...just another Phishing message to try and scam us...  

I did not enter a contest for a Best Buy certificate - not sure what the scam is but I am sure they need my credit card number to cover the "shipping"...
