They left voicemails twice this week but both times it sounded like someone in a car who had pocket dialed. A quick bit of research online shows that it's an SEO company making cold calls are more likely from numbers they've lifted from the Whois database (registered domain names.) This is part of what gives this industry a bad name.

I get these calls a few times a week now - at the office.  I am now at the point where the number is memorized.  I just ignore it when they come up on caller I'd.

    Annoyed
This guy, "Ken", has been calling for months and months, sometimes 3 times a day for anyone he can get his hands on ... our CEO, President, IT Manager, etc., etc.  He is rude and very unprofessional and can't take no for an answer.  I've basically had to hang up on him because he's so persistent on the phone, yet he refuses to give a reason why he's calling.  We've instructed him to send his info/requests via email, hoewver, he will not do so.  He just called this morning again and left his name of "Keshiv Barik" which is a first...usually it's "Ken".  You can tell he is calling from a call center and if you google the company, "Changepond Technologies", there are numerous complaints.

    I hate Changepond.com
These guys call and call and call and call and call. I have NEVER answered, we have NEVER done business together, and they still call and call and call. These are the culprits http://ws.changepond.com/ I report every call to the Do Not Call list, I hope they get fined. SOB's!!! They also try to hide their number by using some service that adds extra "0" and "1" to the number in your call log or Caller ID.

Just some telemarketing crap out of India.  If you really want them to stop calling, just play act and ask if they're calling about the [***] you advertised on Craigslist under Men seeking Indian men for casual sex.

Do they understand it when you blast them with a loud whistle?

If I wanted to talk to them, I would call them. Otherwise they're just some more cold calling scammers that deserve to be thoroughly abused. Sounds like you're one of them "Dave".

they call us from this number 3-4 times/day.  We set up a fake voicemail for a fictitious employee and the [***] simply calls this vmail box 3-4 times/day.  We just need to remember to clean out this mailbox every week since the moron fills it up.  It does give us a chuckle though with how often he calls.

Called asking for someone who hasn't worked here in a couple of years.  I told him no one here by that name.  He started to hem and haw, probably trying to figure out who to ask for next.  I just hung up.

Called again, for another person who hasn't worked here in years.  The ex-employee had one of those names that are two first names, like "David James."  The caller asked for "Mr. David" so he didn't even know who he was calling for anyway.  I hung up, again.  This number definitely goes on my "do not answer" list.

I run a legitimate SEO company and you are so right - phone scammers and email spammers claiming to be SEOs are probably the most to blame for SEOs confusing rep.
Turns out they are stupid, too. They call me and try to sell their "services" with silly scare tactics. I sometimes let them ramble through the script before asking if they know what my company does.
