Caller ID - Out of Area. When I picked up, there was just a dial tone

This number seems to be linked to a debt collection for which I have absolutely no role.  I am trying to find the address of the Level 3 Communications LLC involved with this phone in Cook, Illinois, so that I can write a formal letter of complaint and also inform the FCC.

I finally had a person at the other end.  I let them speak first.  It is from Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago.

this is a legitimate organization with a great cause. you can probably google it...

I have donated to the Mercy home in the past and these calls are beginning to me annoying.  It is a legitmate organization.  However I find these call troublesome.

It was Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.  They wanted my elderly mother to send out letters to her neighbors soliciting donations.  The woman was very persistent and would not let me break in to tell her no, sorry, but we can't do that.  Thanks.  I finally had to hang up on her.

They're probably a very good organization.  My experience with them was with one child who was benefiting from their services (with free tickets to a Bears game, no less!) broke my poor nephew's heart on two separate occasions by inviting him and then disinviting him to the pro football games.  We cannot afford Bears tickets, but are not so poor (yet) as to need this charity's services.  

This one child's actions has soured me to this organization.

It is from Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago... if you call them back and listen to the message and then wait, an option to be put on the DO NOT CALL list is available.  just listen the whole message and then wait about 15 seconds or so then it will offer you an option to be put on the DNC list

My rule of thumb...,. if they don't leave a message, they don't need your business or money!

The fact that this outfit disguises their true identy by masking it as a "Chicago IL" ID is enough to ignore the call.

Once you give to a charitable organization, they'll call you all hours of the day to get more. There's no escape except to change your phone number every year.

Mercy Home for Boys & Girls would solicit a call at 9:00pm at night for a donation?

Sorry but at that hour when I am relaxing from a long day, 9:00pm would not be the RIGHT time to be asking me for $$$$$$$$$

Seems kinda FISHY to me...............the scammers never sleep.

You can not call them back,because a recording comes on stating the # does not receive incoming calls.File a complaint with the better business bureau and the fcc.

I have never received a call from Mercy Home. I used to work with Fr.Scott when I worked in the office of my parish church and we remain good friends to this day. If someone is geting scammed by phone calls using the name of a reputable organzation, either don't answer the call (thank you, caller ID), hang up as soon as you know who they're saying they represent , or don't answer your phone after a certain hour. Have you ever heard of the Do Not Call registry?

After 9:00 in the evening, I turn off my phone and don't answer it again until I turn it on the next morning.
Most of my friends/contacts know this and respect my wishes. Also, if I get an unexpected call from a number I don't recognize, I don't answer it. Don't go sour on a reputable organization just because of someone who's using that organization's name and reputation.

To bid on city/county/state/federal contracts, they left a message.

Fax machine keeps on trying to call my landline office number.
I've come back from lunch with 8 voicemails filled with incessant beeping.  
I've tried routing it to a fax number but it doesn't end up faxing anything.

They have called my 95 year old mother for weeks and several times a day and night.
No one is on other end to ask to STOP these calls. If she falls running to answer the phone from MERCY HOME...I'm going to take action against MERCY HOME. If you call someone...you should have someone at the other end to accept your decline to be called. I would never donate to this organization due to the HARASSMENT!
