    this person calls and mispernounces  my name, I correct them, so I know they don't know me, they get mad.  I ask them who is calling and I can't understand them, because they are still upset because I corrected them on mispernouncing my name, so they say disregard this call and hang up.  They have called me 3 times and if I ask who they are they hang up.  I want to know who they are so thye can stop calling, I'm on a no call list. If they have a reason to call they can leave me a message.  I will not answer next time.

    I get several calls a day from this number. I answer and they hang up without saying anything. It's really getting annoying, and I think it is a collection agency, which makes no sense to me as I don't owe anyone anything or have any late/bad debt. hmph!

    Concerned
    This number called not only my house, but also my retired parents house, and asked us both to supply all information we had on a friend of mine. Of course I will not provide information about my friend, as it is his place to do so if he wishes. They continue to call and harrass us. I seriously question the legality of their methods.

    BCC begins calling me at 8:20 every morning and two to three times more through out the day.  I don't worry about setting my alarm clock becasue they are my wake up call each day.
    Like so many of you, they do not leave a message and simply hang up.  Please make them stop.

    Sincerely,

    Riverdude

    Bonded Collection Corporation; 29 E. Madison St, Suite 1650; Chicago, IL 60602; Phone: 1-312-279-8300 or 1-800-326-6333; Fax: 1-312-279-8310.

    They are breaking the law.  I just received a call from them for my wife.  I advised them that she was not available and offered a message.  The woman said she would try back another time.  I advised her that was not an option and that I wanted the name of the company and her name.  She id'd herself as "Mrs Tools" and the company was BCC.  I asked her what BCC stook for and she said "nothing, that is the name of the company."  I advised that no company (very few) are just initials, she refused the info and termed the call.

    I called back and a gentleman (ha) answered the phone, refused to ID himself and again...would not give the name of the company and hung up on me!

    So what did I do?  What any good collector would do (yup..that's right, 4 years in the business) and I skipped down the company found the correct name and called back.  This time I had to call the 312 number 4 times!  No one would answer.  Finally the (gentleman) did again but with an attitude.  I advised him that I would like a manager, he refused to ID himself by name but implied that he was the manager.  I told him that I had found the name of the company and I wanted to know why they were breaking the law by not disclosing the name when specifically asked...the man said "good job for doing your homework" and hung up.

    I then called the 800 number, found the extension for their compliance manager and left them a message advising on the calls and my intent.

    WHO CARES
    A collection agency that refused to identify themself, their address or any contact point to give the required written demand that all contacts must be done via US Mail

    They left a text message to call, and I found out the number was closed by Federal Trade commission for Fraud issues.  The calles stopped, now they are back at it again with a new phone number

    again they wont identify the name of the company, the address, or the fax number to allow me to comply with the law that they need WRITTEN directions to have all contact by US Mail. Ironically after I asked them to give the address for the written request of do not call, I recieved 5 calls in less than 30 minutes - all stating "the calls will continue till your debt is resolved."  The question I now have is how do I give written notification if I do not have the address to send it to or at minimum a fax # to send it to

    The Federal Trade Commission has been informed and is investigating this.
    They want to know if I sent the notification, and I asked them "how do I send it if I can't get the company to send me the address to send it to?" and the Feds asked me again, so I repeated the same question

    Send them this letter demanding validation of the alledged debt they are calling about VIA certified mail and request a return receipt. If they continue calling after you have written proof they have received it, then the FTC can go after them at the rate of $1,000,00 PER violation:

    Today's Date

    Your Name
    Your Address

    Collector's Name
    Collector's Address

    VIA CERTIFIED MAIL

    Dear {insert name of collector or company},

    I am writing in response to your (letter or phone call) dated {insert date}, (copy enclosed) because I do not believe I owe what you say I owe.

    This is the first I've heard from you, or any other company on this matter therefore, in accordance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Section 809(b): Validating Debts:

    (b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

    I respectfully request that you provide me with the following information:

    (1) the amount of the debt;
    (2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;
    (3) Provide a verification or copy of any judgment (if applicable);
    (4) Proof that you are licensed to collect debts in (insert name of your state)
    Be advised that I am fully aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. For instance, I know that:

    because I have disputed this debt in writing within 30 days of receipt of your dunning notice, you must obtain verification of the debt or a copy of the judgment against me and mail these items to me at your expense;
    you cannot add interest or fees except those allowed by the original contract or state law.
    you do not have to respond to this dispute but if you do, any attempt to collect this debt without validating it, violates the FDCPA;
    Also be advised that I am keeping very accurate records of all correspondence from you and your company including recording all phone calls and I will not hesitate to report violations of the law to my State Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau.

    I have disputed this debt; therefore, until validated you know your information concerning this debt is inaccurate. Thus, if you have already reported this debt to any credit-reporting agency (CRA) or Credit Bureau (CB) then, you must immediately inform them of my dispute with this debt. Reporting information that you know to be inaccurate or failing to report information correctly violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act § 1681s-2. Should you pursue a judgment without validating this debt, I will inform the judge and request the case be dismissed based on your failure to comply with the FDCPA.

    Finally, if you do not own this debt, I demand that you immediately send a copy of this dispute letter to the original creditor so they are also aware of my dispute with this debt.

    Tired of this
    I have gotten calls from this number every day for the 5 months that I've been living in St. Paul. I moved here to go to grad school and took a new number that apparently belongs to someone who owes a lot of money to a lot of people.

    They will not stop calling me. They ask for someone named Harriet. I'm always gone during the day when they call, but I have called back multiple times and informed them in ever more explicit and frustrated terms that I am not Harriet, I do not know Harriet, and I have no idea who Harriet is.

    I called today (again) and told the guy who answered to "take my number out of your database, because the person you're trying to reach doesn't live here."

    He actually SCOFFED at me and said "we don't just take numbers out of our database."

    I told him he'd better or I would call continuously and complain to anyone who would listen until they stopped harassing me.

    I didn't mention that I'm paying for grad school by working for a rock star lawyer. Ha. If they don't stop harassing me, I'll ask her about my legal options.

    Good luck to everyone struggling with these jerks.
