The caller said they were calling from a law office and wanted to speak to my husband because they had a message for him to give to our neighbors - whom they correctly named - across the street.  By the time I handed my husband the phone, there was no longer anyone on the line.

My next door neighbor received a call from this number asking to speak to me by name and stated that my number had been disconnected.  They claimed to be from a law firm and that I would know who they were.....

Who the heck is this???  What game are they playing???

This same game was played on me. Woman asked for a neighbor by name (whom I didn't know) and read off the specific address of the street name I live on. Told her to try calling the office, she asked for the number, told them I didn't know... it should be in the book, or available from information. Then she asked "what is the name of the office?" I was already suspicious at this point and asked..."the name, what do you mean?" she hung up on me. Reporting this to the National Do Not Call Registry.

Got a call from a law firm asking if I knew someone from 10 years ago.  Didn't recognize the name so I said no.  Who are these people.?

Got a call looking for my sister-in-law  who lives several towns away and has a different last name than me or my wife not clear who they are.

Got a bizarre message from them claiming to be debt collectors, and to call back at 888-335-6729.

Debt Collectors

Did not answer since I did not recognize the number.  The voicemail  picked up the call, but the caller left no message.   If it was important they should have left a message and a callback number, but they didn't.  In the past. I've received calls from this same area code several times which belonged to Portfolio Recovery.  Don't know them and don't owe them anything. Will BLOCK this number.

A lady just called my office number asking for someone I never heard of. When I asked who she was trying to reach, she asked for the President of the company but would not tell me the name of the company she was trying to reach. Again I asked what company she was calling from or which company she was trying to reach, she refused to answer, I asked three more times , waited for an answer, she hang up. I never heard the name she was looking for before. Either a desperate deb collector or a scam. I was not going to give her any company information, so she gave up.
