Have received a few calls from this number on my cell and it immediately hangs up when I answer

yeah i have gotten a few calls to and as soon as i answer they hang up wtf is up with it ?

I just got as call a couple of minutes ago from the same number..caller ID says "Broadvoice". They do have a website

I have gotten multiple calls from them today. I haven't answered any of them but when I call back I get the busy signal as well. I just set my phone to ignore any calls outside of my area code for now.

Broadvoice is the telephone company, they're not the ones making aclls.

I have received calls from this number and they hang up when I answer. Also other 312 area code numbers.

Caller hangs up when I answer my  landline.

I received a message from this #.  He says his name is Richard Hugh (?) with the prize distribution center and he is calling in regards to a contest I entered some time back about winning an SUV.  He says that the contest has now ended & he has great news for me.  I need to call him back in the office at 866-430-3177.  He looks forward to hearing from me and congratulations.

I got the same message on my answering machine.
I never entered a contest.Plus he never said my name
throughout the entire message. He was random.  Its a scam.

Are you kidding that these idiots are calling at 8:00 AM???  How can I get them to stop calling me!!

call at 838PM.  i let the machine pick up.  caller said, "hi this is Bruce Sheppard here with NPS, calling about the $25,000 giveaway that was being sponsored within the last 18 months; we are looking at your name and number here and we have very good news for you, so congratulations!"  he asks for me to call 1-866-933-6017 and repeated some congratulatory sentiment intimating i was the winner of something.

sounded like a pre-recorded message though, so i can't attest to anyone hanging up on me.

pretty sure it's a ruse to get you to call a debt collector; i only say that because somehow a fraudulent debt has come into my life recently and worms are coming through the phone lines to try to scare me into paying something i don't owe.  looks like the older posts on here from a couple years back may have been a different wave of the same type of thing.

    National Do Not Call list is not working for us.    Too many loopholes and they have no teeth to phone trace and track down the scammers who are trying to cheat us.      
      File ALL your camplaints with your congressmen , UNTIL , they get fed up with dealing with it and put some real teeth into a 'Do Not Call 'law . with NO exceptions.312-327-0508

Got the same $25,000 message as creekerjess, but the callback number was 1-855-545-7293 and the caller's name was Todd. Got a similar call last month with a female on the other end. This is definitely some type of scam or a ruse to get you to call back.

I have been flooded with calls from them, too. My caller ID says, "Distribution." NO matter how many I've asked them to stop calling, they keep doing it anyway. I have reported them to the folks that take care of "the do NO NOT call" list, and that didn't do any good either. I wish you good luck with them.

You do realize don't you that the DNC is a Database, both for honest business to use and the complaints that are available to all agency's? You can file more direct with the FTC & FCC.  Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
