Getting many calls from 312-340-55** numbers. Many are about lowering your electric bill. Our area switched to a lower rate service. These people are so dumb they clearly don't know that. I bet they call every phone number in their database 3-4 times a day and that's got to be hundreds of thousands of calls. I'm logging every one of them now though since I took my name off their list via dialing back a couple weeks ago. My lawyer knows this and we are considering aggressive action against these fools. If they give up info they will be screwed.  OH and I know how to force them to give it up so they better hope they stop calling soon.

same as HW.. they have called as follows using these numbers and names...I have told them to stop so many times I have lost track..Lets form a CLASS ACTION group adn kill these A_ _ _ _ _ _ S off...I have also complained to IL ICC -- dumber then the FTC they are...

SCAM - Offer of cheaper electric utility rate; Never identify themselves which is a dead giveaway of a SCAMMER

They call the house phone at least once a week and I call back and Press 1 to be removed, but they doesn't seem to work.  Keep the lawsuit going . . .

Same deal - identify themselves as an 'Gas and Electric Utility Assistance Program' - would not give out company name they are making calls on behalf of.  Operator hung up on me when requesting information about their company and company name as I have requested removal numerous times through their varied network of phone numbers.

They call multiple times per week, do not honor removal requests.  Obvious scammers.

It's like santa calling, with a lump of clean coal for the stockings of all the jewish boys and girls.

Same here. I have received sixteen calls from 312-340-55_ _ in the past month so far. Now, my question is this: what is the point of posting these messages?

Same here.  They just jeep calling-did the press 1 thing but they still call.  They need to be sued-count me in.

Claimed they were assigned by the government working for ComEd then tried of offer me another (experian, expedian, something like that) service.  I told her I was staying with ComEd and she hung up telling me to have a nice holiday and enjoy my 20% increase.  I thought I had blocked this number before so I'm not sure how they got through.  I am not letting this go, so happy holidays to her.

lets pay some one to get these people name so we can file a major class action suit against the owners PLUS the employees making these scam calls..The FTC, ICC and IL Atty General are USELESS in stopping these calls. if we make the employees pay big time this crap will stop. Until then it will continue unabated. Its apparent that when they reach a critical mass in calls that have complaints they switch to a new number to mask their identity.

I have the same experience when probing for information.  I asked for the name of the rep and the company she was representing.  I have asked numerous times to be removed from their list.  When I asked today's representative if they were affiliated with a government agency (since she said they were the "electricity and gas assistance program") she said yes.  I then asked in the state of Illinois...she said they were located in the state of Illinois.  I rephrased my question to get clarification...then she hung up.  I think this same company does door to door - I have received two solicitors claiming to be ComEd.  I do not think a legitimate government agency designed to assist customers would hang up when asked for further information. I really want these calls to stop.

They have called every day for weeks. I have called back and pressed "1" to be taken off their list. It has never happened. Very annoying. I reported this to donotcall.gov. Not sure if this will change anything.

i am getting several calls from this number

I have been getting many many calls from this and other numbers in the 312-340-55xx range. I'm pretty sure most of the calls are scams, and they definitely do not honor the federal DNC list or direct requests to be taken off their calling lists. I have given up on trying to get them to stop calling me. I now have a call blocking device on my line that lets me use wildcards to block the entire 100-number range 312-340-55xx. So nice not to hear these idiots ringing my phone any more.
