The Caller ID said AT&T Svc Ctr.  Got one hang up last night about  8pm.  Been getting repeat calls from them from toll-free numbers and other numbers across the country.  I've been wanting to tell them to stop calling me, but I don't want to talk to them.

They've been calling me more since I changed plans.  Could be them or a phishing scam, but I don't want to pick up either way.

We've been getting daily calls from this number for a month or more. Never a message left.

My wife picked up a couple of times, most recently today, but nobody answers or responds - just a dead line and then the hangup dial tone. It's getting creepy. We currently use ATT for landline, not for cell.

Could this be some sort of system test? I'd think they'd tell folks what they were doing...and daily for this long to the same number is strange.

I called AT&T and was told these people are not real. They are using AT & T on our caller ID to make it appear as though they are affilicated with us to avoid "Do Not Call" rules.
Don't listen to these people at (312) 477-0340.
Please report them to the Federal Trade Commission.

I have had 9 calls from this number in the past week. Caller ID says AT&T SVC CTR.

I agree with Fed Up.  It could really be them, trying to sell me more services, or a phishing scam.  Either way, I don't want to talk to them.  If I want to talk to AT&T, I'll call THEM.  Got one call about 5pm a couple of days ago.  No message.

They haven't called me in months, but when they did it was always from a different number.  Sometimes it was toll-free, sometimes some out of state number.  It always said "AT&T Svc Ctr" or "ATT".

Keep getting hang up calls from this number.  I don't have any desire to speak with AT&T if I did, I would call them.

This is a contracted call center that is calling on behalf of AT&T. They do call a lot. When I finally was home to answer, I was told that my DSL was being migrated to U-VERSE...I didn't have an option. When I started questioning the rep disconnected my call. Well I called back and spoke to someone else, who was very rude and unprofessional. So I called the AT&T office of the president and informed them as a PAYING CUSTOMER of x-years, and I don't appreciate ANYONE talking to me the way they did.

Reverse I.D. - land line in Chicago, IL.
Phone I.D. listed as ATT SVC CNTR.
Went to VM - no message.  

I would think AT&T would be interested in stopping this one.

Just received a call from these scammers pretending to be AT&T. Glad to know the callers are fake but wonder why AT&T doesn't take legal action against these fools? Number now blocked.

INFO FOR ALL INCLUDING ATT:  This number gets to a "Company" website called PRIVACYSTAR, which gives this 312 number, but no address, etc., claims to be selling various phone stuff. Talked to a "Rachel Dickson", probably phony name, who was extremely rude, nasty, hostile, with an arrogant tone, finally told her what she is and hung up!  They use ATTs name, but somehow they know I do get ATTs broadband service--she said she has "important information" about my broadband service, but would never tell me what? They are low-life scammers, and I would not be surprised if ATT accepts the sales  this PrivacyStar outfit gets for them [ATT is generally extremely arrogant in their own rite].

Got a call from this number  312-477-0340 and said my internet service was changed
if I wont my service changed I will call ATT my self.
call from Illinois, Chicago ( scammers). please stop this.

These calls are coming from clowns trying to switch your internet carrier. Remember the long distance "slamming" that was going on years ago? Same thing, only now there's more money in broadband than long distance. Number is blocked.

They called - I answered knowing that they were a scam telemarketer.  

When I told the caller that he WAS NOT AT&T he got belligerent and ask me how I knew that he was NOT AT&T.  Told him that I didn't have the time for telemarketers AND HUNG UP!

Recently, I got the new Panasonic wireless phone that blocks 250 numbers.

I saw you post about that phone on another thread several days ago.  Do you like the phone?  After you writing about it I researched it on line and it looks like it would be worth the money.

Returned home and saw these creeps tried calling at 11:38 am on a Sunday!!! For God's sake, AT&T, give it a break already! It's a Day of Rest. What a bunch of idiots!

Calls and hangs up on the answering machine.

Got a call claiming to be ATT rep and that they were upgrading internet service to fiber optic lines. They knew my ATT e-mail address and other info about me. I mistakenly gave them my ss no. Am I in trouble? What should I do?

Received a call with the same story, that they were upgrading the internet service to fiber optic lines.  After I hung up the phone with them, I immediately called ATT directly to ask of their promotions.  They said that they would never call a customer out of the blue, unless the customer requests to be called by ATT.

Being an ATT customer I answered the call. The woman wanted to give me HBO and Cinemax FREE for three months. When I told her I had no interest in those channels and did not want them at any time. She argued with me that I could get it free and cancel at any time. I told her if that was the case I cancel NOW. Argument continued and I said NO and terminated the call.

Tried calling back since I actually was waiting for service from AT&T.
No one ever answers it just goes to voicemail even though the office was supposed to be open from 12-8. Thanks to all who post on these phone numbers it really does help to understand which numbers are scams.
