- Dawn| 2 repliesGot this call while I was talking with someone else. They didn't leave a message, but I figured I'd get this one put out there. I doubt it was anyone important.
- HarryThey didn't leave a message, but I figured I'd list this one anyway. I doubt it was anyone/anybody important. There seems to be a pattern developing lately, son just alerting folks to be watching for too many "unknown" callers that don't answer when picked up.
Note: When writing this, same number called back. It rang once and I picked up and got dial tone. Curious.- Caller: ?????
- Scoot| 3 repliesCalled me too, no message... Wonder what they wanted? hmmmm...
- Erik| 1 replySupposidly its a promotion saying that you win a free cruise and all you have to pay is a 98 per person tax. I said that i didnt want to pay for the tax today over the phone and basically got hung up on... It may be a scam

- Rick| 1 replyHit one to see what was up. I don't give my number out. Asked how they got it, same old same old. You gave number to someone at an event. I don't do that either. When askd for supervisor and told no, I said I have the right to speak to your supervisor. He responded "good luck with that". And hung up on me. SCAM of some kind!

- still!| 2 repliesI get the "Hi this is Ann with card member services" yadayada ...to lower your interest rates, press 1".
Then I pressed 1 to get to talk with someone and when I asked what company they worked with, he said "Visa Master Card Member Services". He said it quickly so I asked him to repeat and he yelled "DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME?! Visa Master Card Member Services"-
I said I wanted to be removed from the list so he said "Ok, we will be closing all you cards". Of course that's BS but I said "Ok if that gets me off htis list".
I get a call from different numbers like this many times a week- so disruptive.- Caller: Visa Master Card Member Services
- JeffI normally don't answer calls to my cell phone I don't recognize, but this was in my area code. No sound when I answered. I called back from the office land line and got a message the number is not in service. This must be someone building a database of real phone numbers. I suspect I'll start getting a lot more spam calls on my cell now...
- GomerAnn| 1 replyGot this call on my cell, don't recognize it so didn't answer. No message of course. Caller ID said Illinois, not that it matters. Added it to my @!$"@;!? contact list with the silent ringer, there are now 35 phone numbers on that contact list.
- WhyThe FCC has temporarily halted 7 minor unprofitable boiler rooms who will receive a slap on the wrist and be back at it within a few days. In the meantime the calls will continue since they are making money with what is called a CNAM revenue-sharing program through companies like http://www.telephonemanagement.net and http://www.CallerID4U.com
In their own words: 'Every day your company makes thousands of outbound phone calls. Every one of those calls generates revenue for many companies, why not yours? Our CNAM revenue-sharing program helps you make money every time a Caller ID request is made by a phone carrier. A high-traffic call center can lose hundreds to thousands of dollars a day to phone carriers by allowing them to charge for access to your own data.'
You can now see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. They are making money even if you don't answer the phone. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their scam then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.
What To Do When You Get an Illegal Robocall; http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/robocalls
1. Hang Up. Do not press 1 or any other numbers to get off the list and NEVER call them back
2. Consider blocking the number or on a cell phone add it to a contact list and assign NO ring tone
3. Report it at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
4. Report it at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov
5. People should continually file complaints with their Attorney Generals office
6. Report any criminal activity to the FBI here: https://tips.fbi.gov
This is an all out attack from these scum sucking filthy pigs! EVERYONE should be reporting them everywhere that they can. Since this is an obvious attempt at identity theft and is interstate, the FBI should be forced to get involved. Charge them with a CRIMINAL offense and throw them in prison instead of the FCC saying 'Naughty - naughty, now go out and play nice'. (Prosecute them in criminal court instead of civil penalties).
There is a blog site that has information on one of these operations: http://telemarketerspam.wordpress.com
