Called number back got automated message that is was Allstate Insurance

have gotten 3 calls from this number. left no messages. answered once and would only talk to my husband who wasn't available. leaves no message

This is a Automated Call Center from a computer for a business that locates people.  They mask the real phone number so you do not know who they are with a valid phone number.  The computer is calling phone numbers at random times to identify when you most likely are home.  The computer will never talk or leave message and hang up when you answer. They just what to know if it is a valid phone number and the time you are home. The business is trying to find you because you owe money to someone in the past from from Bankruptcies, Lien judgement , ETC, and then sells your name and phone number and debt information to a Collection Agency in attempts the get the money from you.   They do not care if it debt has been satisfied by a court and you no longer are required to pay it. As long as some action to collect it has been done in the last 7 years, they can continue to try to collect it forever.

Yes, this is Allstate Insurance

Allstate Insurance or Number Harvesting Call Center?  IMHO the correct answer is YES.  It is possible this is a legit number for the Allstate Motor Club AND the number and even the caller ID can be spoofed by scammers and call harvesting.  My current thinking is that I do not answer calls even from companies whose name I recognize.  If I want to do business with Allstate, CenturyLink or ACME Rocket Skates, I will call them.

I just answered a call from this number, I let them ramble on trying to sell me on Allstate's Auto Club membership for only a dollar a month.  They assumed I wanted it, and asked me which type of card I wanted it on.  I said I would pass and then they tried to sell it more and asked for my card again.  The third time they asked I had hung up on them.

Anyways, I don't think it's Allstate, probably a scam.  They did have my address and number, but I'm sure that's not hard to get.  Their phone quality was poor and scratchy like a bad cell phone.  They tried to push for my credit card really hard.

Received a call from this number and left no message. Reported number to FCC.

Allstate Motor Club. This is an outside company that sells motor club, I know this because I sold this for two weeks as a telemarketer.  They do not represent the company, and although it could be a decent product, the idea is that you forget to cancel after the first month (for a dollar or whatever) and then auto bill for the actual amount.
