Said there was a compliant against me requiring a restraining order. Gave me the compl No. and the above phone number to call. Didn't call back. I know this is bogus but was wondering if your call was the same?
Thanks
E - LI received a call from this number. I called back and I selected the option regarding the voicemail and said this action could not be completed at this time. I think I may have just confirmed to spammers that my number is valid.

- oscar replies to Egot the exact same call. Unfortuantely, I was dumb enough to call. When I called back, a message from the offices of "the united fraud prevention" answers. Then, they ask to press 2 if you received a call. the guy asked me to confirm my social security number which I didn't. He threatened to call the police. I told him great please do. the problem is just calling back is probably enough to confirm that they have your info.
- J| 1 replyA family member received a call from this number looking for my husband. The information was then relayed to my husband with a case number. The family member was told something about fraud. My husband calls gets the same message as above tried again and got through. Spoke to a guy named Miller. Mr. Miller rattled off my husbands social security number. Then claimed my husband was being sued by loan Mart for a payday loan he allegedly didnt pay from 10 years ago. Was unable to get any other information other than wage garnishments and a lien on taxes if not settled. My husband has no recollection of taking out a payday loan through the Internet or elsewhere. I have looked up the number and found nothing as well as the company name and nothing still. Even checked with the BBB and nothing. The even stranger thing is myself not my family member knew my husband 10 years ago so how they got that number to contact him is a even bigger question. Any idea as to who these people are and if they are legit?

- FGS replies to WillThis is BS! Must be a scam...Same comments as above...blocked caller ID, and all options "services not available at this time" Is there any type of regulatory agency that can stop this?
- BKGot a call from "United Fraud Prevention" via 313-334-3113 and a recorded message was left on my voicemail stating that a court action had been filed against me, that my bank accounts would be raided and that I was required to call back. Ha! Total scam.

- Rob| 2 repliesSame thing here, we had a call earlier today from a "Mr. Miller" my wife didn't answer so he called my mother-in-law claiming she had co-signed on a credit card for $1300. He threatened legal action, wage garnishment, tax lien and said there was restraining order against us. He also had my social security number. He then said it could be settled for $300. When transferred to my wife he took a much calmer tone with her, but still didn't have any information. Couldn't provide company or account information for the "debt" but still threatened action if we didn't pay up.
This is a complete and total scam. We have placed alerts on our credit reports and will be watchful.
The question is how did he get enough information to get to us and my mother-in-law. Phone numbers are easy enough, and names and addresses are simple too - but social security number?- Caller: I didn't get the name
- Rob replies to RobBTW - The number was 313-334-3113
- Tired of Fraud and scamsMy Mother and father in law got a call tongiht too. Left messages with Case # and said we had a restraining order against us and needed to have my lawyer call in 24 hours to settle the Civil suit. Stupid people need to be arrested themselves and not threaten people and make an honest living like the rest of us.

- vk| 1 replySame story here. They called me and left message. Then reached out to my ex mother-in-law and ex brother-in-law and left them messages about me! I told them it was a scam but it freaked them out a bit. Confused me how they linked us all together. I'll also be watching my credit report. I work at a financial institution so I'm always extra careful about stuff like this. It's scary how many people might actually give them their info!

- FredCalled my elderly mother, also...had her scared to death. Would like to find these people...
- RayGot same message, but now they claim to be a Civil
Investigation Unit and they leave you a message that
says " You have 24 to 48 hrs to call back and contact
your attorney because you are being sued and being subpoenaed to appear in court GOOD LUCK.
Yea good luck in me calling you. - DennisI got a call from these jerks except it was for my wife's ex husband who has never lived here or had this phone number. When I called back I used option 3 and a person asked if this was (ex's name). I said no and that no one by that name lives here. They said we'll remove the name from our calling list, is this (my name). I was so struck stupid, I replied yes. He repeated his "we'll remove your name from our list". WTF is going on here and how do these people get our names and numbers?
