I have been harassed for months by this company looking for a Christina Dorn and I keep telling them that I don't know who she is, there is no one by that name at this number nor has there ever been I have had this number for over a year. I have said over and over and over to at least 20 different people who call from that number that no one by that name is here or that i even know and I tell them to stop calling but they still keep calling up to like 9 times a day.

THey just call random numbers asking for made-up names. What they they want you to do is give them your name, that way when they call back, they can seem more legitimate!!! Because now they have a real name to ask for.

I have had many calls from over 100 different numbers.  Because I have an IPhone I cannot block anyone.  Then I was told about YouMail which can be used to ditch unwanted calls and has different greetings to use such as number out service.  I love it no more calls and any new ones that come in just add it to your YouMail!

Have received 6 calls from NCO today already, from numbers 7036569963 and 313-444-2971,guess they have called out the full guns on me.  Get ALOT of calls daily from NCO for MONTHS from many different numbers       I now they have a legal right to try to collect debts.  But this is way too far.  Suppose they keeping calling the wrong number or the wrong person or someone who is deceased. Even persons who are unable to pay for reasons of their own, sickness, unployment etc.  It does no good to explain to them as they pay no attention. No use contacting FTC as they do not care.  Maybe we should start sending all the posts from ALL the numbers and the many many calls they make to one person a day but I doubt it would do any good.

... or maybe you should step away from complaint sites, stop crying about the FTC and *USE THE LAWS* they have overseen for 35 years which will help you give NCO the beatdown it keeps asking for.

I'm sure that opinion comforts you, but it's not how US debt collection works. Calls to random targets would be much too obvious a game even for our sleepiest judges to tolerate. Collection efforts always start with a name and amount and SS number, and a presumption that someone owes or can be convinced of that. That the data dumped into debt portfolio spreadsheets are often faulty doesn't matter so much as the *idea* that those accounts are accurate and due. This is true even for the fake payday collectors in South Asia, who *always* begin with at least application data provided by their own pigeons.

As to the non-fake domestic collectors, don't wave them away casually like an ordinary scam. Unlike other telepests, their bad will can be potentially enforced by a judge if you do nothing to halt their progress. Learn your rights to win back your peace.

Mistrust of any ''wrong number'' claim is standard procedure at all the rogue collection agencies. You will never get satisfaction from a verbal request, and number blocking turns into an arms race you will lose. Send a ''cease communication'' notice via USPS Certified with return card. This is the method promoted by the FTC and many consumer watchdogs, and the only way to set a legal landmine, as such a notice is ignored at their risk of a lawsuit from you.

I have had several calls this morning, from this number and other numbers.  If I see a number that I do not recognize, I will not answer my phone.  This is getting ridiculous.  If they need me that bad, they can leave a message.

Who ever it is, that calls, just says "hello, hello, hello" then hangs up!  Since it's a number I don't recognize, I just let it to go the answering machine.  I blocked the call from going through, so I won't be disturbed.
    • Caller: I don't know.  I just get many "hello"  before they hang up.

This is NCO Financial.  Called several times the last few days.  They claim I have a debt that was paid years ago.  They continue to violate FDCPA by calling at all hours (including 8:02 AM Sunday morning) and constant and repeated calls to work #.

Easy solution people.. If you don't know the number, DON'T ANSWER! I NEVER answer numbers I don't know on my cell phone ! Silly to answer unknown numbers. If no voicemail is left describing who they are, They get blocked with an app. Mr Number to be exact.
