Because my business requires solid customer support, I always answer calls, regardless of whether I recognize the number.

This caller ID showed only the number, which I later learned was from the Detroit area. No one responded when I answered, and after the 2nd "Hello? Hello?" he/she hung up. As always, I came here to check the number then blocked. I know it doesn't do a lot of good, but I keep hoping that sooner or later they'll run out of numbers!

Those "You have been pre-approved . . . " (as mentioned above) calls are second in nuisance only to "Our SEO company will put you at the top of all Google searches" and "You've won $50 million in the Nairobi lottery . . . " Yeh, right. Hang on a sec while I get my bank account info for you.

telecom won't do a thing about it because the mindless masses of consumers keep buying & paying for their crappy services, without demanding better.  just like the dolts that complain about the ever-rising expense of cable tv, but keep watching and paying.  talk minus action equals ZERO!

i use voip, and a single swipe blocks these numbers, for good.  i refuse to wait for the telecoms to improve, i choose  to use better options.
