Yes, so sick of this. I have a newborn baby & just got her back to sleep. I went to lay down as well z& boom!! Back to back calls! They woke my baby up & now I'm sitting here exhausted from being up & down all nite! That was my nap time also! My husband gets up for work & takes the 6am feeding & lets me sleep till he leaves for work. Then I wait till she is ready around 8 am to nap again when she goes down. So now I'm going to have to keep my ringer off & that's unsafe & not fair. As I like my husband to call on his breaks. I'm giving it to these people!! U should to! Then they r going in my contacts & straight to VM so I will never hear them call again!

I have received multiple calls from this and other similar numbers over the past two days. I just called this company and told them to remove me from their list. The guy that I talked to hung up on me. I called it back (because I'm stubborn) and the same guy answered. I told him to remove me from my list and he kept trying to say that it wasn't a sales call and asked me what I knew about the call. I told him that I didn't need to know what the call was for. I didn't know him and I wanted to be removed from the list. He kept trying to argue and tell me he was just trying to inform me about car insurance quotes. I told him I had no interest in what he had to say and to remove me from his list. He just said, "Ok, bye." The similar number from which I was called said they were from student loan consolidation and hung up on me when I told them to remove me from their list. Scam if I ever heard one. Just put my number not the FTC's Do-Not-Call list. Really hoping that helps it go away.

Lovely, yet another number to add to the list of annoying calls. No messages left. What good is the do not call registry if the only one who looks at is the one registering.

    >>  What good is the do not call registry  <<

This post has two parts.  The =second= is for people who are interested in the realities of the Do Not Call list.  The =first= is for people who have difficulty understanding long explanations, but think the DNC list does not work.

    1)
The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
    * Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
    * Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

    2)
The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

    Here is your reading assignment:
    https://www.donotcall.gov/
    http://www.ftc.gov/news-events/media-resource ... try/enforcement
    http://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases ... lemarketers-pay

Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.   To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

Just got a call from this number from a person with an Indian accent. Wanted to know about my car insurance. He had a lot of personal information about me. Never did find out what he was up to before I hung up on him. He called back once and I shut him off real quick. Does anyone know what the scam is????
