has left messages about taxes returned first 4 calls telling them they had reached a business each time they say they will remove this number got a call on Saturday!!  asking for the same person stating they would "freeze all future taxes with their lien" and the [***] had the nerve to say "have a Merry Christmas" left a message for MARSHAL JOE THOMAS  at 314.480.5896 that I am authorized to proceed w/action against him if he continues to contact my number.  What an ass.

Yup..Number came up "Pre-Legal."  When you call back, it's an answering machine with some really old guy's name Marshal Joe Thomas.  What the F ever.  Probably some collection agency that is employing some old fart at a retirement home.  Idiots.  Don't pay them anything folks!!!

ILLEGAL COLLECTIONS!!!  I received a call from an unknown number - Mr. Cobb - saying he was a process server with the county where I live and that he would be at my job in 45 minutes with papers to serve me unless he received a stop order and to get the stop order i needed to call 314-480-5896, I asked Mr. Cobb if he was WITH the county - as in a deputy sheriff and he said no that he was with legal support services and that unless he received this stop order he would be at my job with legal papers that I would have to sign and that would have to be witnessed by my supervisor.  THIS IS ILLEGAL DEBT COLLECTION!!!  I called the number he gave me to tell them about his illegal acts and spoke to a man who identified himself as Marshall Thomas, he said Mr. Rice was supposed to get me my papers and he would handle the issue with Mr. Cobb internally.  It turns out they were a debt collector about a payday loan my exhusband took out in HIS name over four years ago! I told them this had nothing to do with me and that I wouldn't be working out any arrangements since NOT MINE or anything I did.  Mr. Thomas cursed at me, and said they were filing charges against me and that they would see me in court..... lol!!!  There is no case, no nothing.  What idiots!!!  People, please know your rights and don't be bullied into doing something!!

Marshall joe Thomas said "I was a person of interest in a fraud that was in the state of New England dumbass didnt realize I never lived in New England it it NE which is Nebraska! He said it was a legal action and unless I paid he would file and I would serve jail time I called the California polie department where I live and they said it was just an angry debt collector and don't give them my personal information

Person claiming to be a marshall and filing court papers for a payday loan, very rude, and threatning me! That i had to pay or i would be charged with check fraud........had me scared, then I started researching my laws.....pssshhhh........when Im in a position to pay my debts back, i will go through an attorney and consolidate..... DONT LET THESE PEOPLE SCARE YOU!!!!!

I had the exact same thing happen to me!! guy gave me the same name. representing himself as a marshall and saying the same thing about fraud to me!.., and being served with papers, in the next 45 mins...(Im in texas....yet he's calling me from a missouri phone #....yea right...) I was scared at first...but then I started researching the laws......he is trying to use scare tactics which is ILLEGAL.!! Iam in the process of researching how to report these people....and possibly sue them for harrassment and misrepresenting themselves.!!!

Mr. Cobb called me work, spoke to phone operator... gave her information to give to me.... a CASE number, if I didn't call him back, would be at my work in 30 min to serve papers. Really made the OPERATOR nervous, especially with all CRAZIES in the world.  I call back 314-480-5896, got a voice mesage, letting him know he just violated all kind of privacy acts and would defintely report him for harassment.  He then called again, I answered repeated the same message to him, "told him, I don't care where you are calling from or your business do not call my work" and hung up on him... He then called back SMIRKING, I will have a uniform police office at your work in 45 min to serve papers.  Don;t have a clue who he was or what he wanted.

Caller called a family member to call me and say I need to call asap because the process server and the sherrif were coming to arrest me and that I have a court date tomorrow. I called the number befor I could even say my name they new my name and told me I had to pay an old payday loan from 12 years ago that the bank had filed civil and criminal charges against me and unless I gave payment they would arrest me

I recieved a call from 314-480-5896 told to call back as soon as possible to stop a court order from being delivered. A Mr.Cobb answered when I called back and told me that a uniformed officer would be at my work to take me out that this was a crimminal offense. I do believe this sort of threating infomation is against the law.

Yes this Mr. Cooper just called a job where I use to work when I live in LA leaving me a message as he's done, like the others stating they would serve me at the office thru a Marshall unless I call to stop that action. Im going to contact the LA police and court to file a complient for him leaving me a message threating me.

He addressed himself as constable joe thomas he said i.was.being charged for check.fraud for a payday loan.i.had years ago that charges are going to be.filed against me.if i.dont pay by the end of the month plus that my.license will be revoked he had all my info he did leave a voicemail after several missed calls

He's just a stinking fraud sitting in a call center. Probably in India. They're nothing. Ignore him.
They can be amusing though. If you're of the mindset.

So this Marshall Thomas has called me constantly claiming fraud for a supposed internet loan who never even approved my loan. He claims they deposited 900.00 into my account...pure bogus! Then he said that he didn't know the number to the loan company when I asked him for it, and he didn't know how much the loan was for, but moments prior he said it was for 900.00 and I had to pay 1800.00 to clear it or he would have to send me to court. He told me he was calling from Buffalo, New York, but the caller ID said he was calling from St. Louis Missouri. He also claimed he worked for arbitration. The guy is has been smokin too much what he's been sellin'! If he thinks he's getting a quarter from me he better think again! You guys out here in the real world, don't let these people lie to you, if anyone is committed fraud it's them and all the people like them who call people up with lies to collect money. They should be arrested! If the courts are after any of us, you best bet they will send a letter to us themselves in the mail. Besides I'd rather take my chances in court than to shell out money to a crook like Marshall Thomas and those like him!

I am so glad to know others had the same situation. This freaked me out!! I just got a call from "unknown" number with a guy named Mr. Cobb that said he was with my local court system (named it and all like it was legit) and he was a legal processor getting ready to serve me a supena within the hour. He said it would be served to my home or work within an hour. He said he would need my supervisor to be a witness if he came to my office. If I wanted more info that the number on the package was 314-480-5896 along with a reference number. And if I dealt with the complaintant then they would dispatch Mr.Cobb within 10 mins to not go to my house. I have had fake "scary" situations like this before so immediately I looked up the number online and found these comments. Thank you everyone. My health is not good and to deal with this stress was totally uncalled for. Don't fall for it!! I hope those people get everything they deserve in hell!!!!

hi the same thing happened to me yesterday in Atlanta, the same guys called me about a loan I am trying to report them to the better business bureau. that is illegal I didn't know that then but I know that now they are suppose to put that on your credit and call it a day. thanks for sharing your story I might need to stay in contact with you

Just got a call from the same guy - looking for my son - who does not live at home.  Gave me an hour before he would be at my door.  Called my son and he told me to check "Google", and, HERE I AM.  Gave me claim #575 046.

I just recieved a call for a Mr. Vincent, he threaten me as well, saying they will issue an warrant for me. left the same number said I would be served in a hour

I looked my name to see if I had any open cases none, Im sure it is a payday loan company that I had 3 years ago, but come on how about some class.

I am a new mother, and my husband just started his new job. I got a call last week from my husbands best friends fiancée... Saying that this guy called her and wanted to arrest my husband for check fraud from anloan place 2 years ago. (telling her everything that was was going on and giving her all my information over the phone)I called the number back and it was a MR Rice, he was very rude and wouldn't let me talk. I was going on no sleep, as my little 3 week old was sick and I hadn't slept. Told me that if I did not give him my account number then he was going to have my husband picked up that night. Not sure what was going on..  I gave it to him... I know... Stupid on my part... But i set up a "payment plan" with him. Then he said a letter would be sent to me and would have all the information I need on it. I received nothing. I closed that account this morning and oped a new one, and right after that I got a call from Marshal Joe Thomas and I told him I just got off the phone with the police department and its illegal what he is doing... He informed me " I don't give a G** D**** about your police department, you tell them that MARSHAL JOE THOMAS is my name if You wanted to report me. "   Wow... Such class and so proffessional... So glad I found these other comments!!!
