Was called by this company in late December.  Claimed they were "Consumer Mediation Services" and I was being prosecuted for check fraud because I didn't make timely payments on a payday loan.  They also called friends of mine and alleged I would be receiving a "summons" to appear in court.  The lady I spoke with, Monica Johnson, claimed to be a "mediator" and was initially rude and condescending.  She became much more sympathetic when I offered to pay $525.  I became suspicious when the amount was deducted from my bank account as "Robert Wells." Monica explained he was my "trustee." I then called the St. Louis and Bridgeton city clerks office and found that no business under that name operated in their area.  I questioned them and they identified themselves as "Commercial Mediation Services" and "Rothstein & Klein."  I'd advise that you don't fall prey to their intimidation tactics.

Additionally, they claimed I would face 2 years in the penitentiary and thousands of dollars in fines.  They use excellent strategies to scare you to death.

I also agree..  this company had all my information and the woman i spoke with Tiffany was very helpful and worked with me.  I appreciate her calling me and working this out with me.  this company is not a scam.

No i spoke with this lady tiffany lewis..  she had my social  number.. i believed her and sent her $100.00.  did i get scammed..  she called my parents and harassed them, making my mom come to tears and upsetting them both.
when i did speak with her  i told her.. do not call my parents any more, you have severly upset them and that is unacceptable".  she said sorry..  then proceeded to get me to pay $100.00.
what should i do

i fell for this..  after speaking with a tiffany lewis.. i did a prepaid card for  $100.00.  I think i was scammed.  did they stop calling you..  what did you do..  have you received any paperwork from them.  this lady claims she cannot send me copies of any information stating this paperwork is considered exhibits .. what do i do

If you give money to strangers who call and abuse you without validating the debt, then you may have given money to a scammer. Legit collectors, per section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf , *must* send you paperwork stating :
1. amount and the name of the current creditor (which may differ from the original creditor who might have sold your debt),
2. that debt will be assumed to be valid unless you dispute in writing within 30 days,
3. that if you do dispute in writing, the collector must mail you written verification of the debt,
4. that if you ask the collector in writing within 30 days, the collector must send you the name and address of the original creditor if it's different from the current creditor.
If you don't get the paperwork (you do not have to ask for it, the FDCPA requires the collector to send it), treat the collector like you would any SCAMMER.

Hi I got a phone call from this number they stated that I owed 510 for a payday loan...I do remember the debt , I got the loan and then lost my job so I couldn't pay it ... I really didn't know what to do about it . Tiffany did call me she was very helpful I got a settlement on the account and borrowed the money from my dad and mom.. this company is not a scam after I paid I got my letter stating that it was paid. The payment did come up under rothstein and Klein but as a trustee ... they did have all my info ss# and address and my references that I had used... u know weather u take out a loan or not .. people don't just forget those things and u also know weather or not that u paid it.... in addition to all of this I also made some payments to the actual payday loan company and when I told tiffany this she avised me that this was a interest only payment .. I found the number of the actual creditor and did some research and that is exactly what it was .. and on another note when I called the original creditor they did asvise me that the debt has been placed with this company for collections because they attempted to collect on It by sending me an email with no success....so once again I was very thankful that I was contacted by this company to get this cleared up I do like to pay for the things that I know I do that is in the wrong...so don't mistake this company to be a scam ...u know if u took out the loan just pay it... they will work with ur situation that u are in..... thank u

the legal name of this person is robert jay wells. he doesnt have a business license nor legitimate reason to be operating. Any business by him, commerical medition or other alias should be reported to your state attorney general's office and law enforcement. He moves around from Missouri to Texas and has ties in Florida. I will update this to help all of you get the justice you deserve.

This allege law firm continues to call my home phone number to harass me about a matter they don't want to provide information on.  They state they are from the state of MO with a US docket number from the state of AL.  When the US Docket was checked for this number was checked on-line it did not exist.  They do not provide case name (valid case number) any details on how someone out of state would be involved with states they have never resided in or done business in and, if the on-line scam web information is true, I have never even taken out a payday loan.

They call in very threateneing and harassing tones and obviously don't realize there are anti-harassment laws in the state of CA where I do reside.  I see they have 3 numbers and a website - why isn't this type of organization investigated and prosecuted.

This company is DEFINITITELY a scam, thier latest trick is to call from a blocked number claiming to be from a law firm.  They say that there was an alleged check fraud and "theft of goods" to try to scare you into giving them money, they refer to a bogus US docket number that doesn't exist, and then they say that they are going to send marshalls to your job to arrest you.  DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MONEY!!!  I called the number that they left (888.777.7564) and the fake name on the voicemail is Chris Butterfield.   Contact your state's attorney, the FTC http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm and the Better Business Bureau at  http://www.bbb.org/stlouis/business-reviews/c ... 4173/complaints.

These dirtbags have got to be stopped once and for all!!
