I recently received a voicemail while away from home.  The caller identified herself as Lola Martinez from Credit Control, LLC, stated she was calling to collect a debt and gave a return (888) phone number.  Then went on to state her client was proceeding on with the person's file, in addition to some other information.

This wouldn't have been a problem if she had called the correct person. Instead, she left private information for a third party (me) to hear.  Even if she had called the correct number, I feel the call was in violation of FTC rules, since I am not the spouse.

Yes, the mini-Miranda (which I, personally, think is a joke) was at the beginning of the message but I am disabled and had the phone on speaker.  It's difficult not to hear what is being said when you're trying to get back to the phone to delete the message.

Do not call this number if you can not leave message or talk to some one.
This a cease and desist request. I am also stating, that no telephone contact be made by your office(s). All future communication with me must done by writing or it will be considered harassment.

There is a person working there named Theona. Very rude person as far as I am concerned. Tried to explain was in middle of test for a job and she rudely accused me of screening my calls and hung up. If she would have waited two more seconds things would have been fine. Just wouldn't listen. Have been trying to call back on the so called 314-561-4000 and constantly get a busy signal. How are people to speak to your office if they are unable to call back on the number that shows up on the phone or is listed with your company information. Poor business standards in my opinion.

Check them out with the BBB...... LOTS of complaints.  Looks like an absolute JOKE of a Collection Agency. When they call, and leave a message for the WRONG party, you can hear all kinds of craziness and people laughing, cursing, shouting, etc. Sounds like they run their business out of some back alley garage. What a joke!
