Herr - 27 Apr 2007Operations Division, a bill collector, called. They left a message for someone I don't know. I called them back and asked to stop their calls because they clearly have the wrong number. But the calls didn't stop. I am reporting them to FTC.

rutl - 28 Apr 20074/23 found this number on my caller ID list. Had not answered. Had gotten a host of calls for a Micheal somebody over the past two years most seemed to be trying to track the individual. Don't know if this was more of same.

Katy - 26 Jun 2007This number has been calling my cellular phone everyday between 5AM - 8AM. I tried calling back but all I seem to get is a busy signal. It's clearly the wrong number and a voicemail has not been left once even though these calls have been occuring for over three months. If I had the time I would report them.

Very weird as neither of them have American Express cards (as most of these posts seem to indicate) - so I'm unsure how she got MY cell number or why she called. She claimed she was "working on something" for my older son and wanted him to call. We did not return the call.

Sheldon - 7 Jun 2008That is an old collection agency tactic. When I was quite younger and worked for a colleciton agency, we would get a list of "nearbys". "Nearbys" were the neighbors of the debtor. You would basically call the neighbor to get the debtor to call you back.

I told the lady I needed to know who was calling, and she was very rude and told me that it was of a personal nature and she was not at liberty to tell me anything, so I told her well then neither was I. She got pissed and read off my mom's address and said that she would just contact all of my mom's neighbors until she got a hold of her, then she hung up on me. Who do I report this to????

Michael - 7 Jan 2008They call me about once a week. A guy named Frank Dennis. He's a dumb black guy from Saint Louis, MO. They're a third party collection agency for American Express. These guys work on commission, so they'll do whatever they can to collect debt. Fortunately for me, I'm BKing them, so I keep writing down the days and times they call. My lawyer said the judge may junction them for doing that. Anyway, hope this helps you guys.

John - 14 May 2008We've been getting calls from "Operations Div" 314-851-4351. A woman called around 7pm tonight, left a message for my wife & I by name, kept referring to "the situation." Not 10-15 minutes later, the door bell rang, and it was one of our neighbors holding a sheet of paper with the number 314-851-4351 on it. He said a woman just called him trying to get in touch with us, asking if he would pass on her number. We are paying on our Amex card, but I realllly don't appreciate them calling the neighbors. Wondering what to do next as far as stopping this.

Pam - 23 Jan 2008They call my house phone and my cell phone (not sure how they got that) at all hours of the day and night. It is AMEX. My husband is out of work so we cannot pay the bill right now.
My concern is that I keep getting a bill from AMEX to pay, and now the collection agency is bugging me....so when I do get the cash to pay, who the heck do I pay on this? I'm afraid I pay the credit agency and I'll still get bugged by AMEX.

Kelly - 14 Feb 2008I just got a call from them on my cell around 10:45 this morning, but I was in class so I couldn't answer. When I replayed the voice message, it just said that the message was for my sister, and asked if she could call them back...but the number they gave was a different one than what was on my CID (this one). So that was strange...who knows.

Pauly - 14 Feb 2008This number is for Mike Campbell his reply number is 800-926-3136 X 3048 he is a bill collector. I guess he buys bad Amex debts, and tried to collect them by driving everyone crazy with unsolicited phone calls.
