I have gotten many calls from other numbers as well.  This is first call from this number but same set up. It is a debt collection company useing illegal practices to scare you into paying money claiming fraudulent activity and charges against you. If you get a live person and question them they hang up on you. If you call back after being hung up on you wont get through. 3148843221,5013130505 are just a couple that they use. Dont fall into their trap and never give them any further info or money. In my state their entire outfit would be taken away in cuffs. From the owners down to the hourly employees.

I've gotten multiple calls from this number. Same as other numbers I've gotten - they say there are fraudulent charges on my account (or social depending on who's calling) and I'll forfeit my rights if I don't call them back. My Dad called them back and asked what company they were with & they hung up. He did this twice!
Don't give these people any personal information!!!

Had someone call me yesterday and say that I owed money and that I was being taken to court. Had several pieces of info to make it seem believable. I did set up a date later this week to call them back and give them some money. After I got off the phone with them I started thinking and did some research online and found out this is a SCAM. I have tried to call back several times to talk to someone and let them know that I know it is FRAUD. NO ANSWER.

A phone call, email or text message from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:

    * Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money.   ["Written" means snailmailed - US Mail ... not emailed or texted]

    Source:
    https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.

IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit  the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
    http://www.consumerfinance.gov/blog/debtcollection/

If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

They are [***] making fraudulent threats and have called me dozens of times from 3 different states.  Report them as FRAUD to the police station in the city they call from (Missouri, Georgia and Arkansas).  Sounds like a national ring of scammers.  Don't let them threaten you they are PHONEY and [***].  I hope they go to prison and they will if I have anything to do with it.  STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Recevied multiple messages from this phone number.
First call was regarding fraudulant activity with my SSN
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, calls were telling me I had a pending case which needed to be resolved immediately or I was going to be sued.
6th and 7th  calls told me I had to resolve the issue today or "GOOD LUCK IN COURT"

If this were a court, there deffinately would not be a "black female attitude" on the other line telling me GOOD LUCK IN COURT!
    Are these scammers serious?

It's a total scam.  Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and yuou can't be arrested for it.  Debt collectors have nothing to do iwth the criminal justice system.  Criminal charges (if any)  are handled by public prosecutors.  These are just white collar criminals going around trying to scare up money from people.  Ignore the calls and block them.

Ignore them.  Read the other posts.  Total scam.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

    If they are bothering you,

    Report them:

    http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Yell at them and talk over them.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.  If you can find them.

If they have threatened you with criminal prosecution report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection  (Threatening criminal prosecution to collect a civil debt is a clear violation of the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)

    There are NO warrants!!
And you're never given a head's up on being served a summons, you're just served without warning.

It's a scam using illegal scare tactics.

Go to ftc.gov and read the FDCPA and learn your rights.

The real deal is that it's a scam!

No head's up on being served a summons, you're just served without warning.

And you cannot be arrested for a debt, debt is a civil matter, not a criminal matter.

They called with a recorded message stating that I will be summoned at my place of employment and that two charges would be filed against me for fraudulent activity. I called the number back to speak with a live person and waiting on hold for 50 minutes never got a response
