I am getting several calls a day with hang ups every time I answer! How do I stop this???

I've gotten a BUNCH of calls from this number.  They never speak they just hang up.  I've tried calling back but it says the numbers been disconnected.  I want them to stop calling me!!!!

I have been getting numerous calls almost every day for at least a week now.  Seems to hang up when I do answer, but says it's disconnect when I try calling back.  We have a private number also.  How the heck is this....?

For the past week I have been receiving calls from this number. When I called back it says the number is disconnected. The calls are on my cell phone so how did they get this number.

I am getting calls from this person as well... 314-963-8895... It is to the point where I am considering changing my phone number. If anyone finds out who is behind this, please post.

Where is everyone from? I am from Evansville, IN and the area code of this number is from St. Louis Missouri, I know no one in that area.

I figured out how you can stop this: so I am clicking around on the internet trying to find the cause of why the hell I am getting daily calls that leave no answer and do not say anything. It is because of the damn newspaper company in my area sold my phone number to a group called the Pisa Group. http://www.thepisagroup.com/contact.html Everyone please call 314-845-2825 and ask to be removed from the list and I urge you to ask how they received your number and contact them as well!

Back in Jan of 2007, The Oklahoman must have hired The Pisa Group out of St. Louis to try and renew my subscription.  I had cancelled it because I received soaking wet newspapers left at the bottom of my driveway.  The last time I answered after a few hang ups prior a fellow was actually on the other end and said, "Hi, I'm (so-and-so) from the Oklahoman, how are you today?"  I responded with, "I'm fine and I don't need you calling me anymore.  Thanks and Goodbye!"  I immediately hung up.  I would have posted this sooner, but I just stumbled onto a phone number that I googled again and this incident came back to memory.  Given the previous relationship I had with the Oklahoman, they used that to get around the "Do Not Call Registry"; however, once I told the fellow, "Don't call" I haven't heard from them since.  To be placed on the Nat'l Do Not Call Registry dial 888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to have placed on the registry and follow the prompts.  All of my family's cell phones and my hard line at the house are on this list.

Mary, Thank you for the information. I have been receiving calls off and on from 314-963-8895 for quite good number of weeks. My girl friend was tired and mad. After trying to research on the web, I called 314-845-2825 and have requested the marketing company to remove from their list which they promised to within 24 hours. Thanks once again for your help.

I just called the above number to have my number removed from the list. Apparently my local paper sold my name to them. They are being hired to get me to subscribe to the paper. Al in all they were quite nice and didn't hesitate to remove my number from there list.

I have been receiving calls from this number as well. They asked for the name of my local newspaper and I gave it to them. Now, I WORK at the local newspaper and am already a subscriber and my number is unlisted. Boy are they going to hear it when I go into work on Monday. I must say that the woman that I spoke with was very pleasant!

i have been getting calls several times a day for weeks from this number. they never leave a message. they called just now. the funny thing is, i have NEVER answered. not once. i'm always wary about answering unknown numbers for fear that it's an old flame or something lol. i'm glad i finally found out who it is and will be calling the recommended number to get taken off their list. i am in mobile, alabama if you're curious.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS!!  I have received two calls from this PISA Group in St. Louis, a telemarketing group.  According to them, they randomly take an area code, and their computer comes up with different combinations and from there, they generate calls to you.  I have been on the "do not call list" and they are miffed as to how my number came up.  So, if you want your name off, call this number: 1-636-940-2200.  They were actually very apologetic about it and said it would take 7-10 days to get off their list.

I dont get it. What good does it do for them to call and hang-up? The phone company needs an option to block all 'unknown caller' calls.

Yep, getting calls from 314-845-8895 several times a day for over a month.  I just called 314-845-2825 and the woman apologized and said I would be taken off the list immediately.

Calling every single day... It's the PISA Group promoting the Houston Chronicle in the Houston Metro Area. I am new in the city and I am surprised they got to me so fast...
