This was a scam. Supposedly for IRS.

Caller said they were the IRS and must be called immediately.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I got the same phone message.

The caller left a voicemail message twice saying there's a lawsuit against me from the IRS. That I should call this number immediately.
I didn't call this number because IRS never calls if there's a problem , IRS will send a letter.

caller left message saying the IRS was filing suit against me and to call 315-215-1094 immediately.  I didn't as I know that the IRS would notify me by mail of any such action.

Same as others mentioned, but I received a call from 718-377-9204 from an automated message claiming to be from the IRS: "This call is officially a final notice from IRS...the reason for this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you..." And it asked me to call 315-215-1094 for more information.

Says they are from the IRS and this is the last notice. They will be filing lawsuit if I don't call immediately.

I received a computerized call stating a lawsuit was filed by the IRS and I needed to call 315-215-1094 immediately. I did not return the call.

I also received two calls claiming the IRS was suing me and to call 315-2145-1094.  My answering machine picked up the call.  IRS scam.  How stupid do these people think we are?

I received this call on my answering machine. I called the number 3 times, even though I knew it was a scam. Twice there was a busy signal. One time a man answered "IRS" & I told him I was calling back as instructed regarding the many IRS lawsuits pending in my name. He hung up on me!

Just received a recorded call claiming IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and I was to call this number immediately! Scared the crap out of me at first. Wanted me to call 315-215-1094.

I received the same call this morning. Woman's voice stating this is the last notice, the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me, and call immediately.

I just received a call from 315-215-1094.  An automated voice (female) left a message stating that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me.  The IRS tends to handle such matters in the form of a letter.  I called back.  A man answered, "Hello, IRS."  I asked him what is his full name.  He said, "Michael Austin.  [***]."  Then, hung up on me.  BOINK!

I just got home to an answering machine message that said they were the IRS and filing a lawsuit against me and this call was my final notice and to call them immediately at 315.215.1094. Total Scam IRS would NEVER call they mail letters usually certified mail. Do not call them!!!!

I just got the same message as everyone else reported. Final notice IRS filing a lawsuit against me and to call this number. Like everyone else I knew it was a scam, still gives you a scare when you hear it on the answering machine.

This is absolutely a scam.  Do not send them money.  Report it any contact to the IRS immediately.

Just got a phone call on Wednesday, 04/29/15 @ 4:51 from 315-215-1094. The message was a woman advising that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against us. Felt it was a scam call, but checked the number anyway....great way to interrupt your afternoon.

The phone number 315-215-1094 stated they were the IRS and that they were claiming a lawsuit against us and to call this number immediately.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
