- RickNCN| 2 repliesGot a call from one of these bozos. I strung him along for about 15 minutes before I told him I own my own PC repair business and he was lying. He said his name was Stephen (or Steven) Foster (with an Indian accent... so funny, why can't they use a reasonable sounding Indian name? maybe "Pradeep"??) from Windows PC Care Support. the number that came up on the caller ID was "Peek Beatrice" 256-232-2097. Then I spoke low and very loudly into the phone and said, "YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF" and he told me to "Shut up!". BUWAHAHAH... LOL. This is the number he said he was calling from (3152940229). I asked if I could call him back on it and reach him. He said I could, so he probably has a skype number with fake caller ID.

- Jim replies to UnknownI got this call as well! Be aware they will try to run your credit card and try to stay on the phone with you when you call your bank or they will try to call for you if its declined, hopefully you wont say anything like passwords while on the phone with the bank try to reverse the declined card. He will say the company name is service tech. He is very deceiving low life person or persons that pry on unsuspected good people. there is another number that they use and it is 419-822-3758 Microsoft Will Never Call You for any reason....
- ChefBeckyCaller ID showed name and number as UC Campus Berkeley, 510 642 1886. However, the person on the other end with an Indian accent said his name was Ray Conn (I had him spell it for me); said he was working for the Windows Service Center for Microsoft; told me there was a problem with my operating system and he was calling to help me fix it. I told him I hadn't noticed any problems but was really busy at the moment and I'd be happy to call him back. The return number he gave me was 315 294 0229.

- PaulThanks for confirming my suspicions. I got a call from an Indian sounding guy named "Nick Parker" though caller ID said "Troy". ID said 240-600-0148. Call back # was 315-294-0229. Said he was from Microsoft. LOL!
- ArtI had the very same call. Same thick Indian accent - said his name is John. He had me look into my event viewer and look for any errors or warnings. He had me run a netstat in a command window and said that the IP: 127.0.0.1 proved that hackers have already hacked my pc. Said I could verify that he is from Microsoft by calling 315-294-0229, or by going to www.microsoftsafetyandsecurity.com. I noticed that my called ID said the call was from WA (Washinngton). He said that hackers had already hacked my computer and that they are using it already. He wanted to transfer the call to his technician who would remotely access my computer. I told him I would call the number 315-294-0229 to verify his identity, but instead I googled the number and found this forum. I too believe this is not legitimate. I will not be calling him back.

- Mike in MD replies to ArunIf he cold called you about supposed problems on your computer that he has no way of actually knowing about and gave you that website, chances are the site is not reliable. However, he could have given you that site to make him look legit when he has no affiliation with it. Better safe than sorry.
