4 calls claiming that the "IRS is filing a suit against us."

Recording saying IRS is filing.a lawsuit

Repeat calls and " claim" statement. Seems to be a partial message, but it is actually the complete message.

A couple incomplete voice mails & one I answered ~ recording to return call to this number because the IRS is filing a lawsuit against us.
Wonder if bankruptcy in the last year has some jerks playing on people like us? Most definitely not a professional call and it's designed to create worry.
Anyone else in a similar "boat?"

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

i just got a squeaky voice mail saying IRS filing lawsuits.

Several phone calls and one recording to return the call to this number for the IRS is filling law suit against me. When I called the number a person behind the phone with a heavy accent informed me a Sheriff will come to my house to deliver papers.

Three calls this week indicating IRS is filing a lawsuit against us and wanting a call back

Two calls in one day claiming that the IRS is filing lawsuit against us. Decided not to call back knowing that the IRS always communicates via USPS only. The msg left was a partial autorecording and incomplete reference numbers.

Best to always report this type of call to the FCC. EVen though the number they give is fake, the FCC has to receive a number of complaints before they'll try to do anything

Got the same call, with the same partial message, beginning with "filed a law suit against you," got a second message leaving 315-743-4257 as a callback.
