Said it was the american lung association, wanting to know if i would donate again.  I said yes, and was immediately transferred to the 'donations' person.  I said I'd rather donate via the website, and she said 'you can do that too.  bye'  

which made me wonder if it's a scam.

Answered phone, knew my name and said it was American Lung Association.  It didn't sound legit

These calls come in intermittently daily past 2 weeks and are same as 866 8002202 the best we can determine.  Called and via voicemail system requested 4 times our number be removed as we are on DNC register.  Today they have called 4 times on Sunday and their number now cannot receive calls so we should report to FTC I think.  Caller id shows American Lung Association on the 315  area code one.

I received the same (apparently) bogus call.  I reported it to the American Lung Association of NY.

Stop calls.

Called 13 times in 80 minutes.  This is harrassment.  Stop calls.

Did not answer - but they call at least once a day, even on the weekends.

They also call me every single day-morning, noon and well after 8pm. I never answer. Way too many phone calls.

For greater than 2 months, we have recieved 1-4 calls a day from American Lung (1-315-627-7071).  Our "Caller ID" identifies it, and we do not answer.

How can we stop these calls??

received a call for 315-627-7071 American Lung.  I have asked them to take my number out of their call list because I do not give donations over the telephone.  All donations must be in writing and payment must be to a locat address.  They must also submit their nonprofit statement and Tax ID Number.  Any more calls from this number will terminate any further donations to the American Lung Association.

I have received a daily call from this number in the 30 days. I always check caller ID before answering and when this number rings thru to my voice msil, no message is ever left. It's probably a fund-raising call and I am a charitable person, however I resent an attempt at being  forced into making a contribution by some pushy telemarketer. I deem this HARRASMENT.  American Lung will never get another of my penion & social security dollars again.

If you give a donation to someone who called you, how do you really know who they are?  I looked up this number using 411.com and the number is unlisted.  So how do I know this isn't a scam?  How can they autheticate themselves?

Even if you could look the number up in 411.com someone could spoof the caller id.  So it's NEVER a good idea to give out credit card information to someone who has called YOU.

If you want to make a donation to this group (or any other) you would be far better off going to their web page and making a donation there.

several calls over several days, no message

Numerous calls every day.  Have the number blocked but calls continue.  No message.

These people are persistent! I finally blocked their number...now....if they call...one ring and they are cut off.  i have gotten at least 6 calls a day...even into the late evening.  I am emailing the local chapter of American Lung Association to complain. They have used different numbers, but the most recent is 315-627-7071.
