I got a message saying it was the IRS and that they had been trying to reach me and this was their final notice or legal action would be taken.

Got a call and she said from IRS! Urgent and final notice and should call back that number. Definitely SCAM!

I just received this same call however I did not answer since the caller was blocked. A voicemail message was left.

I got a msg saying it was the IRS and that they had been trying to reach me and this was my final notice and that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. The msg stated that i needed to call immediately.

Literally just got the same call!
It was an unknown caller so I declined the call, but received a voicemail telling me I'm getting sued.
Scam!

Just got the same call -- came up on my phone as Unknown. Recorded message: This is the IRS --- your FINAL notice -- call this number immediately you are being sued. Glad I Googled the number before I called the IRS.

Get an unknown call saying its from the IRS that they have a lawsuit against me to call asap. I call the # that was said, rang forever until a guy answer saying Ronnie Cooper, having a accent indian, arabian? So I tell him I got a call and says yes you are owning for back taxes. I'm freaking out and says a arrest warrant is issued. I'm at work crying my eyes out. So we get disconnected. I'm like omg so I'm calling back busy line until 2 mins later it finally rings and Ronnie answers saying you are owing back taxes for 2010, 2012, & 2013. I'm flipping out bc I had identity theft and raises his voice at me and I tell him don't talk to me like that and hangs up. I call again with my husband by my side on speaker and rings until he answers. His tone of voice so ruthless and degrading me saying my identity theft has nothing to do with me owing my taxes. We can resolve this or go to court.

Horrible experience and sickens me people can just ruin you in a heartbeat like this.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I just received a message telling me that the IRS is filing a lawsuit.  When I tried to call the number it is busy.  I just googled the number and according to the thread it appears to be a scam.  I would think, the IRS would send a written notice, as they always do.

Recieved this call today, also saying final chance. Another IRS scam

I got a call from this number saying they were the IRS and it was their final call and was sending an IRS agent to arrest ne unless I paid them X amount. They scammed me for 1,000.00 dollars. They had me buy 2 visa Green dot cards @ 500 apiece. When I realized it was a scam, I rushed to the Bank, but it was too late, in 20 minutes my money was gone. He had an India accent. I reported it to the Police. Unfortunately couldn't do much about it.

Just got the same call.  Robo call said it was the IRS, this was the final notice, and I was being sued.  SCAM!!!

Just received a call from this number. Said the call was from the IRS. Final notice that legal action was going be taken against us. Called number back and got a busy signal SCAM!!
