I answered hello over and over.  Eventually, a strongly accented voice came on and told me this was an emergency call about the windows system in my computer.  The connection was very bad and I asked if he was calling from India.  From that point he proceeded to curse very profanely, first calling me a [***] [***].  I disconnected shortly after.

Same Here.  Did not answer - and they did not leave a message.  They were calling at 7:10PM on a Saturday in their (NY) time zone.  I have had several of these calls in the past; sometimes I amuse myself by talking to them a while until I advise them that I know it is a scam and they will want $XXX dollars to fix it.  Usually then they immediately hang up.

    Don't scam on me

I received several calls from this number today. The caller claimed to be from Microsoft "Technical" Department, calling to alert me to a Trojan virus in my computer, and asking me to go to my computer so they could help me "fix it". If you call back 315-639-8222 you get a message that the number is no longer valid. When I pointed this out, the caller said I could reach her, agent Gwen Stacey, Microsoft "employee number MS108X", at 315 288 3288, in Brooklyn NY. However, the 315 area code is in upstate NY. Calling 315 288 3288, someone answers saying "Technical Department". This seems to be a scam that could be tracked down via the 315 288 3288 number.

Did not answer.  Will block. Called my cell. Seems like a weekly or semi weekly occurrence with these types of calls.

    ATTISWORTHLESS
They called with an anonymous CID.  Wife picked up the phone didn't say anything and they asked for me by name.  She let them talk without saying anything until they hung up!  If she had known it was a windows scammer she probably would have fooled them around. AT&T is worthless because they allow these spoofed numbers to pass through their network.

Got this call not long ago... and Google Voice automatically flagged it as SPAM and send it to hell.. I mean voicemail.

If your TelCo has the Simultaneous Ring feature, ENABLE IT and point it to your Google Voice number. So now, every call to your phone number will also ring your Google Voice number.
    - What does this do? It gives you a record of EVERY call to your phone
    - What good does THAT do? You can then use Google Voice to block those numbers, so the next time any of the blocked numbers call your phone again, Google Voice will intercept and block it.
    - How is this different from using the TelCo to block the numbers? When Google Voice blocks a number it plays the "NOT IN SERVICE" tone and message
    - As an added bonus, Google Voice automatically detects known SPAMMERS and sends them to voicemail even if they've never called your phone before - yes, exactly like Gmail but for phones

I don't work for Google, but just thought I'd share because these f-ers are really pissing me off so the more ways we can screw them over the better. If you have a third-party call blocker, that'd work too. Spread the word.

Pakistani Windows error scam. Played along with fake Indian accent. He tells you that my computer has been sending an error message to Windows server. He tells me to turn the computer on. I waste 15-minutes of his time by asking what his name, where born, sexual orientation, like Muslim women, and so on. After 15-minutes I told him I'm an IT tech. He begins to cuss me out by saying I wasted his time, I told him to dig a trench for a real job.

I let it ring through to voicemail, but no message. I came here to look and confirmed it was junk (one of those hated Microsoft tech calls). Blocked it. Thanks for the info, folks!

PS There are plenty of Indian curse words to throw back at them if they're abusive (Google them). "Chutiya" is my favorite. :-)

India windows scam again. One would think our illustrious congress would make some kind of effort at halting these sub-human life forms.
