- JohnniesueScam. Some foreign sounding people call saying they are awarding grants from the U.S. grants, then ask you to take $295.00 to Western in order to receive this "grant". When you tell them it sounds like a scam they hang up. However, they do not stop calling. They call me about every other day.
- Caller: Unknown. They say it is the "U.S. Grant Department"
- Akesha huntThese people are calling my phone acting like it's government money it seems like a scam after I told them they did not hang up they kept trying to get my to buy a money card and put 295 on the card and they will give me 5795.

- RMPBI received multiple calls, and acquired multiple names 2 of which I believe are actual names to who they wanted me to transfer money: Joshua Algarin, Religh, North Carolina, David Savarino, Lancaster, California I hope some one investigates these people. I am certain that they will find these 2 people as they can not receive funds from western union without an ID
- Caller: Federal Grant Department
- Felicia priesterThe names was given was Emily Rozers & Peter Warner . I believe its a trick to get people to spend $295 but that way you can not trace them.
- Caller: grant department
- MRAMMGot the same type of call. Foreign man said I would receive a grant from federal govt of $5,795 and that I had to call 315-675-4311 with the Grant # GS297 to get an ID code from Manager Emily Rogers or Manager Sean Russell. They said call immediately after hanging up because he would be sending my file of to Western Union right now. I checked online before calling. Good thing!
- Caller: Forget name they used
- MonicaJust got this call now, Indian sounding guy, from 315-675-4311, said I'd won a federal grant because I paid my bills and taxes on time. Said I had to go to Western Union today to pick it up. RIGHT. I told him flat out I was googling this number and he hung up on me.
- LindaI just got a call from this number - when I asked, "which federal government?" They hung up - I call them back - a woman with a strong accent answered - when I asked which government this was for, she also hung up.

- StephenI too recieved a call from this number (315) 675-4311 today and I spoke to a man with a thick accent who claim his name is Kevin. YEAH SURE! HE said I've been selected and would receive a grant from federal govt of $5,795 for paying my taxes and bills on time and some other info crap about bankruptcy. Once I told him I recently filed bankruptcy, he said he had to ask his manager if I still qualified and hung up. So, I call back and spoke to a woman named Amy, YEAH SURE! Who also had a thick accent. I told her about Kevin and she went straight into talking about the grant I won and said I'd have to go to a 7/11 store (HA!) or some other place and pay $295 to receive $5,795 through Western Union. What happened to Kevin and his manager concerning my bankruptcy I told her I felt like this was a scam and she began speaking very fast (as if going around what I was trying to say), to call her when I get there and she would walk me through the process. I said okay and hung up. So, I googled the telephone number and I came to this website and this is what I got. Glad I came here.
- Caller: Federal Gov't Grant Department
- PaulI got that call too so I decided to mess with him. I was in a good mood so I kept interrupting the guy and telling him that the deal sounds great and did he want my birthdate and social security number. He jumped at both but I kept laughing while I was talking. He finally asked why I was laughing and I told him this was the funniest call of the day. He hung up.
PLEASE, you guys, don't fall for this crap.- Caller: Federal Gov, Grant Department
- Alex Mann| 1 replyThey called saying I had been one of 1700 chosen to receive 5,795 dollars because I paid my bills on time and that all I had to do was bring 295 dollars to a western union. Absolutely a scam because last time I checked the federal government doesn't send money through western union. And they got my address wrong

There are a LOT of things that are not "for real", on both the internet and the telephone!
Things to believe:
• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, a car from a caller, or a grant from a gracious government ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄- ◄-
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to ask for money for a loan or prize, before awarding the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or a different famous software company, or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you Vanilla Card, MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Geeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites, or a statement that your computer is infected.
• 876 is NOT your lucky number, and it will cost you money to call that area code!
• The number you see on your Caller ID may not be the number of the person who called you!
