- Melanie| 1 replyI just got a call from the number, a lady named Maggie Williams. She had a very heavy accent and said she was from "Fiber Crime Unit" a law firm. I could tell she was reading from a script becuase it was the dang thing I have heard from many other scamers. "This is very time sesitve" they have the LAST FOUR OF MY SOCIAL but that is it! do not let that scare you. Its just the last four. These always seem to come up will i apply for a loan or get an insurance quote. its nothing but a scam from a low life idiot. Next time they call i am going to answer and harrass them back.

- KristinI just received the same message from Maggie Williams who also called about 2 hours ago, and i told her to call again later, stating that they received a lawsuit against me and that this is time sentitive. Since all of you received basically the same call, i am assuming it is a scam. Thanks everyone.

- Eric-OH replies to MelanieThrough on it.You all are absolutely correct, to an extent. This place and these people are breaking so many laws I don't have time to list them all. Let me assure you that no licensed collection agency is permitted to call you from a personal cee phone. Not to mention theaten any kind of legal action without the intent to follow through on the action. I've been doing collections for 15 years, a greater portion of which was contracted by the federal government, and I can tell you these people are using illegal scare tactics. Just block them if you can and if you talk to one of them play along long enough to get the name and address of the company then file a lawsuit against them for harassment under prtection of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act with your attorney generals office. Remember our country motto- out of many, one. E pluribus unum. It takes a lot of complaints to take these places down for good. Best of luck!
- BillYep, I got it too - On my work number - I was freaked out at first because I do work for a Healthcare company - But I agree - Thank God for Google!! - I'm so relieved now - I'm actually excited for when the next call comes in - Might have to shut my office door for that one. One thing that gave it away is at the end they always say "If you do not return this call, I can only wish you the best of luck going forward" or something along those lines.

- jasonCall your states attourney Generals office, and tell them the #'s you are called from and what they are "claiming"..... Also call the FTC, which you can file a complaint online by going to the bottom of the screen to "contact us", and then "secure complaint form". Give the info asked and then there will be box for you to explain exactly what is happening to you. Give phone #'s, names, all details about what they say....
- jasonBest way to deal with them ive found over the past 3 weeks of these calls, is to just call them back. Tell them you know they are a scam, they arent who they say they are, and that your going to report them to the FBI, the FTC, and their phone carrier. (which is "magic Jack" most of the time) They will get mad, hangup. But keep calling them back, over, and over, and over, and over again. Dont argue with them, dont even listen to them, just tell them calmly what you want to say, and when they get mad, hangup on them. Then calll them back again..... They will eventually quit answering, so hangup and call again! If you get a dial tone then busy signal, hangup. Then call them again!!! Trust me, this worked for me! Havent got any calls for a long time now. Just wanted to relay this to you all..
