these people are calling and saying that they have a grant for you and then having you call back to reverify your information and to get a small processing fee to get your grant SCAM!!!!!!!!

I knew it was a SCAM! sounded to good to be true.

I got a call today from a unknown number the guy asked for me and asked to verify my information which I did my address phone number and other info. He was tell me he was calling from Washington and that every year the us federal government was giving grant money of 8000 the unknown number came out to be 101825 tried to call back but didn't happen. The man then asked me how I would like to receive the money I said in a check and he claimed that many people called back to report they never gotten the check that the best bet was for a money transfer to my account I claimed I didn't have a bank account and said it wasn't a problem that the money would be sent by money gram or western union. He gave me an approval # bn324 and a security code 4510 and to call 315 834-5111 so I did to see what happens I talked to Steve Newman and he asked for the code and security number then told me the information the other guy stated. So I was going to get the money by money gram and talked alot and said in order for me to receive the money i needed to send 180 to a charity for the red cross in Africa. I went along with it and asked him when i needed to send the money he said Asap that all i needed to do was send it and give him a confirmation number and he would send my info to the federal reserve of new York. So he wanted me to call him when i was there doing the transfer so he can help me fill out the form i told him I'll to it tomorrow.....yeah right in going to wait and let him call me and tell him off. =P stupid Indian man get a job and stop F-ing people over.

I got the same call with the same approval # and security code. I knew it was a scam as soon as here stated talking.

Received a call on my cell phone from 101825. After the fifth call today I was finally annoyed enough to answer it. The lady said her name, I coudln't understand it with her stong accent, an claiming that she was calling from the US Treasury. She said that I had been selected to receive a $1000 grant that I could use as I wished and would never need to pay back. I was one of 17,000 people across the US to be selected because I met certain criteria, ie. I have not filed bankruptcy in the past 6 months, I do not have a criminal record, ect. The approval number and security number were different from the previous listed code but the 315-834-5111 number I was told to call was the same. I did not call the number because I believe this to be some sort of scam.

I've been getting calls from 101825 and from 15.  Whatever happened to 7 or 10 digit phone numbers? anyway, same story.  overly thick accent, $8000 dollars, no check option.  same approval number and security code.  Called it a Reimbursement Grant from the US government in Washington.  I asked what department; he said the Treasury Department... Sad to know it's a scam.  $8000 would have been great.  stupid slackers....

As soon as I heard the foreign accent and the phone kinda breaking up, I knew it had to be a scam. I wonder how much they are making tho. People just go with the old saying....If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Same Call but different code and same breaking up line cant hear or understand them and blah blah blah..SCAM. okay deposit money to who and why okay yeah sure ill never just go deposit money to nobody no thanks

i too got the number and different approval and security code. The voice was breaking. I was called from 5 number and when I tried calling back it didnt get through. I called 315-834-5111 and talked with a lady and we talked the same as mentioned above . I told her give me some time to think and I will get back to you and I never did.

I really wonder how many people are getting scammed.

Definitely a scam! I got the same exact phone call from these stupid Indian people.  There is now way on earth the government is going to give you $8000 free dollars especially in this time of recession.  Do not get screwed over by these people. They told me the 161.  was to provide a security deposit to prove that I am an American citizen. Do not get fooled by these idiots.

We almost have the same name, but I receved a call today August 15,2012 the caller said he was calling from Washington DC, the call back number was 01825. He had a accent, sounded quite foreign. I asked if he was calling from a cell phone, because his conversation was breaking up a lot. He said No. I think he was.  Stated, I would receive a grant of $8000 with no pay back if I call (315) 834-5111 with Sec code 4510 and BN324. He said it was the Accounting Office. He also asked how I wanted the money. I said Western Union, CASH. I have not called, but I should and give them hell for doing this to people..

I just got pretty much the same scam. This Indian sounding woman on a phone that kept breaking up. She told me that she was in Washington DC. So I asked her what time it was and I heard her asking someone else what time it was in Washington DC, obviously she was not in DC, I busted her and she said "oh not, I am in DC and I didn't ask anybody for the time. She gave me the same story, the treasury is giving out 8,000 to a bunch of people. I tried the 315 number, which is actually in New York, and got no answer.
I get tons of scam attempts on the internet. I always mess with them. If you want to read some really funny stuff go to www.419eater.com and read some of those stories of scammers that got scammed by some really creative folks in the UK.

Got the call today. Knew it was too good to be true so I talked to my dad about it (he is a lawyer) and decided to google it and found this. I called them back and told them I talked to my lawyer about it and they have your number and I googled your number and i know this is a scam. He promptly hung up on me! Haha! If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
