Another computer scam call, this time from "windowtechman.com".  Oh, they have a website, but the number isn't in service.  Too top it off, the "24/7" chat room feature isn't working.

Here is the takeaway:
NEVER ACCEPT CALLS FROM PEOPLE CLAIMING YOUR PC HAS A VIRUS.
NEVER BELIEVE SOMEONE WHO SAYS THEY KNOW THE "CLS ID" of your computer, it is NOT UNIQUE.

To prove this, ask them what your operating system is, who your ISP is, and what the name of your computer is.

If the cannot accurately tell you without fail, HANG UP AND REPORT THEM HERE.

Had a call from this number. Person said from Microsoft and my computer was sending message that it had a virus. Listened to her(?) story and then said I had to go and hung up the phone.

this is a computer scam. They will try to charge your 300 dollars to fix your computer. ITS A FRAUD to get your money I have sent a detailed letter to the FTC and bank alerting them these people are defrauding people out of their hard earned money.

Just received an automated call from this number claiming to be the IRS. I called it back and it was some guy with an heavy accent..basically a scam!

Same thing just happened to me. Claimed that we under paid our taxes. That's funny I work for a corporation and they use a payroll service that takes the taxes out automatically.

They said they were the IRS, this was a final notice that they were going to sue me unless I called right away.

Just received a call from this number claiming that the IRS was filing a lawsuit unless I called right away.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

First got a call from 844-505-3328. Answered, but no answer from the caller. Hung up and immediately got a call from this (315-908-7229) number stating IRS was filing a lawsuit. Don't know if they're connected, but I don't have time for this s#!t.

I also received a call saying they are the IRS filing a law suit.  I received 2 voice messages.  I appreciate everyone posting here what happened to them, I figured it was a scam but it made me a little nervous.  I filed a complaint on the link to the IRS website provided by Slim.
