- Concerned| 3 repliesI am being told that they are calling from Micrsoftand they must remote into my machine and remove a program that can potentially impact their entire opertating system.
- Caller: Micrsoft
- Edith CachetSay they are calling from ABS service. (Too pedestrian to be a legitimate company" Say my computer is calling them because we are having problems downloading software. I doubt the legitimacy of this call. When they call me the number is 11 digits long and I cannot call it back. They gave me 315-944-2594 for me to call back. Sounds like they are calling from a phone bank in India.

- reply for 'concerned' replies to Concerned| 2 repliesNever trust a call like this! A legitimate tech support professional will only remote into your system after you contact them yourself with a problem - if they are your contracted tech support. Never have I had a legitimate tech support person call and ask to do so. No reputable company would do this - let alone claim they are with a company they are not with.
- Cia| 4 repliesI too got a call from this number. My first caller said "Hello, this is Jason from ABC tech support with Microsoft. We received an error message from your computer." He asked something about my antivirus and wanted me to log into my Internet explorer. I thought this was strange and told him I didn't have time for the call. He said he could call back. He called back about ten minutes later and asked if I could log onto my computer. At that time, I had another call and told him I could call him back. He said he could call me back at a better time, but I insisted I would call him right back. I took the number to search online, with no real results. It gave a location (Liverpool, NY) but no personal/business name. I searched Microsoft tech support online and called one locally. The technician said he had been in the business for 10 years and had never heard of anything like that. He said it is a scam and never trust anyone making these types of calls. It's someone trying to access your information in your computer.

- Cardin Winter| 1 replyHi I think we are mistaken here. ABC Tech-Support is a genuine company and dealing in US and UK. They have software professionals who are certified. They fixed my computer issue and over and above my friends as well contacted them and got their system fixed in a very nominal fee.

- Damien| 1 replyI too got a call from this number , but would not agree that they are a scam, because only after they serviced my computer is when my computer has started working very fast. so i feel they are doing a great job.
- anonymous replies to reply for 'concerned'| 1 replyTHIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!) that they now want $$$ to fix. If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.
- ICONIC| 1 replyI Just got the call. The guy was definitely from India and asked permission to access my computer. When I said there is no way in hell I was going to let him access my computer he got irate and said my computer was going crash and I would loose all of my data. - RAY replies to Cia| 3 repliesNo, I don't think it's a scam. My computer was really not working. They helped me and didn't charge more to me, and now my computer is working good.
- Matosha Laguerre replies to RAY| 1 replyThis is not a scam this company has their own website and customer care number and they are really genuine they helped me to remove viruses in my computer and even install a antiviruses .
- EGGHEADI just got the call from these dirtbags. They kept insisting that my computer had a virus and they could only fix the problem if I let them remote access the computer. When I questioned the 1st Tech about which virus she was refering to she could not give me specifics. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and that is when "Michael?" got on the phone and told me they received a error message from my computer. When I asked him what the virus was he hung up on me! My caller ID listed a different phone number that the 1 they gave me to call back. What a bunch of LOW LIFE SCUMBAGS!!!!! I hope they all get the CLAP!!!

- crystalradI also have received calls from 442-032-864554. Every day last week except Friday, I received a call around 12:30 pm EST. My caller ID said Great Britain and I don't know anyone in GB. They screwed up by calling on Friday at 7:45PM EST. That would be 12:45am in GB. I didn't answer the calls and I thought they had stopped, until they called again tonite at 7:50 PM. That's when I looked the # up on Google and found the info about it being a scam. I figured something had to be phoney when someone in GB started calling from what would be after midnite their time. Now I'm really glad I didn't answer.
