316-215-6678

This is probably a scam targeting Speedy Cash customers. Here is a copy of the email I sent to them:

I have been getting several calls from 316-215-6678. I do not answer calls I do not recognize because they are usually robo-call scams for lower credit card rates or phony pain cream. When I Google that number it comes up as your Speedy Cash location at 6300 E. 21st St. North in Wichita Kansas. If you click on one of the links it brings up a page of Wichita area locations with all the Wichita numbers just a couple digits different from the number that keeps calling me.

I then went to your legitimate web site all the phone numbers are different. I called the east 21st street location and they had no clue about what was going on. This is obvious scam that may be targeting your customers. Perhaps they are phishing for people who are behind on payments to threaten them try to get  money from them. I have never used your company and I have no complaint against you. This obviously is not your business making these calls. Please investigate this and get the scammers prosecuted. I would like to see all of them behind bars. You should probably contact the FTC about this.

Please let me know how this turns out. It would really make my day if I helped send some scammers to jail.

I have Vonage voip phone service, and I regularly review the log of calls placed and received, and these people are very persistent in calling me.

I have my phone service set to go straight to voice mail on incoming calls, and they never say anything, so I don't know why they waste their resources trying to contact me for a total non-issue.

I have unblocked this number and will answer next time they call to see exactly what their scam is. Besides the email I have sent to Speedy Cash I will turn in a complaint on them. I may even feel like giving them a cussing out that will make a sailor blush. In the past week they have called 6 times. I have heard that callers who violate the do not call list can be made to pay a fine directly to you for each call. I will check into that.

Since I unblocked this number they have called again twice and hung up. Just a couple of minutes after a hang up today they called again. Somehow they knew my name even though my number is unlisted. He would not tell me where he got my number. He first claimed he was calling in behalf of the Kansas State Troopers as a public service to warn about distracted driving. I asked him if he was a trooper and he admitted that he was not. He tried to deny that he wanted any money at first and then said they wanted to mail me a packet about the troopers charity. I found out that the Kansas State Troopers association is the union for the Highway Patrol and this number is one that they are using. The lady I spoke to there still could not tell me how they got my unlisted number. Since charities are one of the many loopholes in the do not call list law there is really nothing you can do about it. Often legitimate charities use telemarketing firms to do their calling and keep most of the donations that they get.

Home phone received 5 calls from this number in the last 3 days and probably 15 in the last 2 weeks.  I answered only once telling them all calls were monitored but they still call.

I received 4 calls yesterday. It is only 10 am  today and have received 2 calls already. The caller ID is Whitewater, Ks. I do not answer these calls.
