Digital Extremes - internship replies to ck| 1 replyI got an email from a guy with this number regarding an internship. He said that he wanted me to go shop at certain stores and evaluate them based on a few different things and they would pay for me to do this. They contacted me through my school and I haven't taken them up on the offer because it seems like a scam.
- N. replies to internshipSame here, I just received an email from Adam Smith with that number asking me to work online billing his suppliers and do his invoices. Said that the pay is $600 weekly...its too good to be true.. And he also said he found me through my school

Unfortunately, I have already replied to the email. - Thomas replies to osaI have also received this email and already replied. Once I read the second one, this whole thing appears to be a scam to me as well.
Most likely these people are getting contact info from the systems used by colleges and universities. If your unsure whether or not this is a scam, you can go to the FBI website and report them. Usually you will get a response back from the FBI in 24 hours with an agent confirming whether or not this is a scam. At least they have responded to me in the past. - JaredDear Applicant,

- Christi| 1 replySadly I work in a Career Serivces Office and have gotten many calls from students that received this same message. The person did not get their information from our office as they indicated and we are taking all steps to find out where they got our students information.
When you receive messages like this remember that the majority of legit businesses will use their business email so if it does not have the business name in the email (example @walmart.com) it probably is not from that company.
Any company that asks for money are usually scams.- Caller: Merrill Lynch USA

I received this e-mail few days ago, and I replied that I am interested, and then this guy sent me a check, and said that I can get 10% from the check, and what I need to do is to send the rest of the money to someone he designated. And now, I know it is just a scam. - Allen10 replies to wyb1221| 1 replyTo anyone who has responded to the email:
I just replied to the email sent to me with a similar statement (Kurt Abrams from Cara Operations). Did the person try to contact you in any other way after you did not send the payment? I'm just concerned that since the person has my information, they won't try to send me anymore stuff, or worse, show up and try and rob me or something.
Thanks for the help. - not Michael replies to Allen10"the person has my information"
What information do they have? If its just your name, address, and e-mail address you are fine. They are probably located in a foreign country that does not take this sort of crime seriously and does not cooperate with US law enforcement. They'll e-mail and maybe call, but they won't visit you.
If you gave them your credit card number or bank account number contact the credit card company or bank to get the account frozen. The scammers will try to spend your money.
If you gave them your social security number they will try to use that, too. I don't know what you can do to prevent trouble from that. Maybe someone else can jump in here and help you.
