I got a call from this number at 10:05 a.m., CDT today.   My CID tagged the number as "OUT OF AREA" and the caller did not leave a message.  I did not call the number back.

I just got a call from this same number. They did not leave a message and came up as "unavailable" on the caller ID. Called it back and it did not give a company name but did said if you are interested in NOT receiving any future calls regarding special promotions please press 1. I did that and it said that it would take 72 hours for it to take effect. Hope it works because this number calls a lot and I have never called it back until today.

Received the call today, no message and rang one time only. The number is now blocked, if the DNC list can't stop them, my pro call blocker can.

Caller ID said "Mount Hope KS".  Obviously a scam -- didn't answer.

Got a call from this number said Mount Hope KS I don't know anyone in Kansas. Probably another telemarketer?

Home security system scam. The CID read "L7 SCVC CALL" (sic), and the voice emulation robot identified the company as "Secure Plus Systems."

NEVER call unknown numbers back!!
If they didn't leave a message, they are 99.99% likely to be scammers, or it's a wrong number.
However, even some scammers will leave a recorded message to trick you into calling back.
Be smarter than them. DO NOT call them back!!

By calling back, you've been duped into confirming your phone number is working. If someone answers, you might be scammed.

Also, now, the scammer will sell your phone number and many more scam calls will be coming your way. They will come your way anyway. No doubt about that. We all get them. Just ignore them and delete unknown numbers from your caller ID.
If you call them back (these are most likely spoofed numbers, by the way) you could actually be calling a premium phone number, or one that's out of the country, and then you could be charged some astronomical fee for calling it. Save yourself the headache and possible scam, and ignore unknown calls.

Also, if you see your own phone number on the Caller ID, it's being spoofed. The caller is trying to trick you into picking up the call, so they can scam you, or it might be a private eye, an attorney, or someone you don't want to talk to such as a collection agency.

They will just call you from some other phone number. Call blocking is nice, but honestly, there are thousands of phone numbers telemarketers and scammers are using, and most of the are spoofed anyway.
