A person calling himself Richard, texted me using this number to answer a Craig's List posting I made. It was a scam to have me wire money via Western Union.

Craig's list scam.......wants me to ship item to him after money order or cashiers check clears.....etc
Says he can't call cuz reception is bad in his area
its Kansas !!

Responded to a Craigslist post in Mobile AL

i am only able to make payment by Check or Money Order, I will make arrangement for the pick-up after payment has been received and cleared in your account.i would not mind adding $50 if you retain it for me and Please take the posting off Craigslist today and consider it sold to me. Do reply back with your full name and address in which the payment will be mail to you.

Has scam written all over it!

I had the same experience!!! I posted some furniture on craigslist and he said the exact same thing, would add an extra $50 for my inconvience...bla bla bla ...SCAM!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting these other comments, it just happened to me and I looked it up and found all this information.

We also had a craigslist item that he sent a check for. Totally a scam. "Richard" told us the same song and dance as the others listed above. RUN if you come across this dude!

This guy says his name is richard... sent me a text related to a large sign I have for sale on craigslist.
Sent a check, but not from the same area his number is listed from, Check says from a company in New York state.  I called the company, they authorized no check.  I called the bank it says it is written on they say it is not an account number they have.  Its a fraud and when he texted me asking me to deposit and withdraw the check I refused.  hope people are careful of this one

This is a craigslist scammer looking to send a cashier's/certified check for a purchase.  They might add money to the check and say "reimburse me" for the extra to get that amount of money from you or they might just take your delivered item.  The check will bounce after a couple weeks and your bank will hold you responsible for this amount.  Avoid this person at all costs.
