called my cell did not leave any message. So I called them back I got a recording they were closed. But it was only 4pm.

I got a call from this number asking for assistance in locating me. I told them I know where to find myself. They proceed to start the process of "scamming" questions. They got pissed and hung up after I kept telling them that I know where to find myself.

this is a scammer trying to locate me ave I know where I am!!

They hung up; I answer my cell like a business phone so I suspect they thought it was a wrong #

Female phoned - asked for me by full name which she had correctly.   She told me that a law suit was being filled against me and there had been attempts to serve me with summons.  She attempted to give me a tel no to call to learn details of the law suit.  I hung up.  I believe that a legitimate complaint would be handled bt US Mail to begin with.

We will see.

had the same call...however they said they were looking for my X. They said that a law suit was being filled against her and they're trying to locate her...then it got disconnected before I could ask any questions...

This # just called my husband's ex looking for me and used my Madden last name!

This is a scam and you should all beware.

If anyone had a case against you the last thing they would tell you is that a "process server was on the way to serve you."

They even asked for personal information like the last 4 of your SS# or try to confirm your name and address.

DO NOT give these people your information. Do report this kind of activity.

They wanted to talk to my husband about legal documentation. I acted like I didn't understand English. They hung up

Repeated calls hang up sometimes however sometimes asks for my daughter and threatens warrant if no response from her. Will give no reason. My daughter has no leagal issues.

they called a family that I lived with in 2002 looking for me. Haven't had that number in now 13 years.

Saying I have a warrant for my arrest.

I called the police and I am clear as I know but I wanted to be safe.

The police said they couldn't help though.

Same thing here. "Legal " action has been filed against me. I did not ID myself, and then they started on if I am hiding information, they would file charges against me for fraud!!!! And the guy said, so are you sure you don't know her because legal action has been filed. Really!!??. And I said, first of all, if you are a bill collector, you can't say Legal action unless legal action has officially been filed. And you can't disclose ANY infirmation except for to the person.   Really!!!! How dumb do they really think people are!!!!!  The guy was such an ignorant ass, I lost my cool and ended up cussing the idiot out and that he had the wrong # and remove it....but I know they won't. So no problem..... # is not accepted anymore!! Lol

Yes, I use to work for an old school, die hard collection company. Some of the people are ruthless and will say any line of BS. Believe me, I use to listen to the crap for 8hours a day. There's still today soft collections , and still hardcore-oldschool collection practices. The co I worked for has had several lawsuits filed for stuff like this.

I'm willing to bet it is a collection call. There are ruthless collection agencies out there that think they can scare people . and believe it or not, it works. Witnessed it 8 hrs a dayfir many many years. We had a couple of those hardcore collectors and that's when you need to know about the FDCPA and the laws. And alot if times its for bills that you might not even realize were out there or fraudulent. I had a call today, and ripped right back at the guy.
