I called the number back as I had missed both calls I received from this number. It was an automated voice that gave me the option to cancel my subscriber services or contact customer service. I chose to cancel and then the automated person told me of all of the benefits that I was going to lose, like being entered in drawings for cash and other prizes and some kind of prescription drug benefits and other offers. I still chose to cancel and it said it may take so many business days to process. Still not completely sure how they got my number. Whatever.

Also got a call from this number with a recording saying that the FBI has reported break-ins in our area and we should be protected with a security system and that they would give us one if we allowed them to put a sign in our yard ...blah....blah...blah was then asked to push a number to talk to a rep or another digit to be removed from their list but I get this call every couple of months (same recording - different phone number) so what's the point???? Have been on the DO NOT CALL list from the beginning and also renewed it and still get these annoying calls.

4/7/12:  I got a call at my office.  When I called it back I got a person who said "Security Promotions"  When I asked to bwe removed from the list, they hung up

Csll came from Winnfield, Louisiana at 6:40 pm. Left no msg. Hope this is not another idiot telemarketer calling my office number.

BTW, if it is a security company...we don't need a security system. We have a excellent dogs and an even better aim.

What ever happened to the do not call list .I only answer the call if I know your number stop wasting your time.

These two numbers are from the same people.  First call (318...)  I did not answer ; they waited for my answering machine to answer, thenn just hanged up.
Second call (919) - call came in immediately after. Same as above, no message on voice mail

my answering message  states "all calls are recorded"... most hang up at that point!

Report to the FTC, FCC and Attorney General's office.  You can do it on-line or call their 800 number- it's a bit time consuming but the more complaints, the better.  The authorities are looking into the criminals who make these security system calls - they are the same robocallers as "Heather & Rachel" who try to "lower your interest rates".  All scammers.  They won't stop calling and they actually love the "do not call" list because that's how they know there are live people they can scam.  Complain as much as possible but do it to the Federal authorities.

I've stopped complaining to the FCC & FTC both.  I've filed 17 compliaints total in 2011 and 4 this year.  The calls keep coming.  They are robocalling, meaning they use a computer to random dial any number possible, excluding certain types.  You can change your phone number and you will STILL get these a$$wipes calling you at all hours.  

I finally found a way around it.  My telephone/cable/internet provider has a calling feature called Do Not Disturb.  I have it enabled, recurring daily, that calls cannot get through between 1:00 a.m. and midnight the next night.  It's illegal for them to call after 9:00 pm for all that matters.  I can put in exception numbers for those who I WANT to hear from.  All others get a "This person cannot be disturbed" message.  The only place these calls show up is in my online calls log.  I simply delete them.

They woke me up this morning, I didn't answer..   I called back and the dude said "I didn't call you",..

Rang twice, I did not answer.  SPAM from Winnfield, LA.  

People:  DO NOT provide your phone number to anyone or anything on the internet.  Do not include it in emails to friends and contacts. Do not enter it in forms when prompted.  They troll the internet collecting your number from these sources.

I've learned how to stop the calls....it works. When they call, pick up, don't say anything, and wait for them to say something so you'll know there's a connection to a live voice....then loudly blow a whistle into the phone. A former telemarket told me to do this....he said it does something to their computers. I had one number calling me up to 14 times a day for over a year, and another calling 6-8 times a day for months...nothing would stop them....the whistle did the job. Haven't heard from either of this this week. Caller ID says Winfield, La.

These calls started coming in about the same time a company named Portfolio Recovery started calling me.

I don't answer any numbers I don't know and they didn't leave a message.
