- Q.Got a call with no message left.
- No-No-No| 1 replyGot a call from them today. They called me, but the automated message "thanked me" for calling THEM!! This was the "press 1 to be connected to a representative" for trying out a product, and, in exchange, receiving a $100 Wal-Mart gift voucher. Also the message said "you MAY be eligible to receive a $100 Wal-Mart gift voucher." I've gotten these calls before, always from a different number. Anytime I get one of these calls, I try to report as many details as I can on this site. I hung up after listening to the message, and only listened to it long enough in order to understand what it was they're trying to push. THIS IS A SCAM!! They called today @ 4:25 PM EST on May 30th, 2014.
I would think that Wal-Mart would want to not have their company advertised like this, and their lawyers would issue a "cease and desist" order!!! Also, I wish our representatives in DC would do something to shut these people down, once and for all!!!! They could, if they really wanted to!!- Call type: Telemarketer
- Unwanted interruption - waste of timeIt rang this morning and I answered. I heard "thank you for calling". I hadn't called them. "Please listen carefully as our menu options have changed". Then I hung up. Not worth my time. I feel concern for the elderly who might not quite understand what is going on. When I've intercepted phone calls like this on my father's phone, I tell him he just needs to hang up. That generation is not used to being rude and hanging up, but that's the only way to do it.

- GlenGot a call again from them They called me, but the automated message "thanking me" for calling THEM!! They told me that i had won a $100 Wal-Mart gift certificate. The caller said they were going to transfer me to get info from me, I hung up immediately for the reason " YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE THE CALL IS BEING TRANSFERRED TO. Past experience from this same call was that when call was transferred, I could not understand the live person's English. When The phone bill came in following month there was a long distance charge which coincided with this call.

- mumbo| 1 replyGot call on my cell this morning. Face it folks, any call which begins, "thank you for calling" when it wasn't you who called has got to be bad news. Wow, so you have won a $100 Wal-Mart card? Sure and they just want some info from you so they can get it to you. "Do not call" register is a waste of time. Blocking numbers is a waste of time, they just use another number.
Don't know who they are and don't care. Only chance is to keep on complaining to your local congressman and/or senator.
If enough people do that, they just may get off their butts and do something. Not really likely, but I can think of nothing else. The system is broken and neither party gives a damn. I no longer answer calls not clearly identified. If anyone who knows me has a reason to contact me, they also have other means to do so. - Grandpa Moses replies to mumboDear mumbo,
Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities. You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws. The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. They are not a waste of time. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Recording said " Thanks for calling " said that i had won a $100 wal-mart gift card just needed to provide a credit card number to pay for the $2 shipping. I hung up after a few not so nice words. I am so tired of these calls, they interrupt my business.
- Johngot a call from this number, and because of the fantastically wonderful feature of the iPhone 5, I am able to block calls from this number for ever.
Prior to this feature on the iPhone, I received a minimum of 5 calls a day from scammers, or telemarketers. Since I can now block calls on this phone, the number of unwanted scam calls have decreased to approximately one a week.- Caller: Don't know
