cpweddle1, you DO realize that your post is a complete and total waste of time as well as the actions you say you took. Your police can't do anything about telephone calls and the Do Not Call list DOES NOT APPLY to companies such as debt collectors. If you don't think you owe a debt, tell them that. If they say you do, ask them to send you information about the debt IN WRITING, then dispute it IN WRITING if you don't feel you owe it. Your threats are meaningless to them and won't stand up as protection for you in court. You can sue them - but you'll lose. If the debt collector is calling for someone who's not in your household, tell them so. They don't want to waste their time calling for someone who doesn't live there. Get it now?

Cellphone FL - "you have won a magical vacation..." I hung up.  Another scam.
btw, having your phone # on the Do Not Call list doesn't mean you're immune to these calls.  These companies use random # robot-dialing and get some guillable folks to buy into their junk.

Yet another bothersome caller, rings and disturbs people but not with information important enough to leave a message.
I loathe the part of humanity who finds the nerve to bother others with this type of dribble--get a real job.

Good response, but I would be very surprised if anyone from that company ever reads comments on this site.  Over the years, I have told a couple callers that I read about them on this site.  They are ALWAYS STUNNED that this site even exists.  I tell them it exists because  of companies like theirs. hee hee

Well said Sharon!  It seems they are busy tonight calling & harassing people.  They hung up after 3 rings, so as not to get charged for the call. It seems all of these guys change their number every couple of weeks so my call blocking has to be changed.  I fill it up, then have to erase numbers to make room for the new ones.  All just to get a little peace & quiet from callers trying to rip us off.

    Hay Big Doo Whoop !!!!
    1) This si not a debt collecter, it is a Vacation PRIZE SCAM.....
    2) The do Not call list does not protect from robo calling.
    3) You are wrong in certain states harrassing phone calls form ANYONE INCLUDING COMPANIES ( as well as debt collecters ) can be procecuted. ---------  HOWEVER with or when there are three or more valid complaints filed the COMPANY will change their base phone nuymber.  Harrassment is at least 2 calls from the SAME NUMBER in a weeks period. ----- ALSO the company may have your number called from a different office location.
    4) Just because you tell a debt collecter "that person does not live here" does not mean they will stop calling your number.
    5) EVEN IF you do own anyone money you can ask them to stop calling you and correspond only by mail,  and they must comply.
    6) you can take action by getting a phone voice recorder and begin the conversation with these idiots that this conversation is being recorded!......
    7) A liegitmate company will not waste their time or assetts with bogus calls, and should follow FCC DEBT GUIDLINES.... if not you CAN SUE THEM.

Hi YA All replies to Uncle Al
    Hi Uncle Al,

DO what I do .. I can set my phone to ring a differrent tone for folks I know and a regular tone for those I don't.   So when I am busy and get a call withthe standard phone ring, I ignore it .  Later I check Called ID and if the call seems to have been legit. I call them back,

The call tonight was from a Florida based Company that said I won a Disney Vacation!.....

I got this from am email that I suscribe to:

New rules from the FCC put more power into your hands to stop unwanted telemarketing calls. Check out your new rights below, and if you think they've been violated, let us know.

New rules that just went into effect from the FCC will put you in better control over who can call you, on both your landline and your wireless device.

To help them enforce these new rules, the FCC wants to know more about what you are currently experiencing. Share your robocall experience!

    https://stori.es/share/annoyed-by-robocalls

    Among your new rights:

    • A telemarketer will have to get your written consent to receive a call or message. You can give your OK for them to call through paper or electronic means – web forms, a telephone keypress, or email.

    • Robocalls to your home landline are no longer allowed based solely on an ‘established business relationship’ with you. Simply buying a product, or contacting a business with a question, no longer gives them permission to call you.

    • Telemarketers who call will now have to let you immediately opt out of receiving additional calls through an automated menu.

What can you do right now? Tell us specifics about the robocalls calls you’ve received – company, product, etc – so we can hold these telemarketers accountable.

We can expect this will not be a smooth process, and that many telemarketers may not want to abide by these new rules. Stay tuned, because we will be back to ask for your help to make sure the rules are working, and telemarketers are held to them.
