Caller said her name was Alisha, and she was with some entity called Healthy Home.  She wanted to talk to the person in the house who has been diagnosed with diabetes.  No one in our home has diabetes and I told "Alisha" (who had an oriental accent) this fact. She stumbled all over herself trying to apologize.  Thing is.....I DO have diabetes!!!  LMAO!!!!!

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is buy a call blocker device, service or app.
    Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
    * Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
    * Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.
    * If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

Better off Healthy is a legitimate company. When you go online to a random site and enter your info, it is  sold to companies. This company calls to verify info for diabetic patients, so the patients can get supplies. They called, I answered, I gave my info and received new a glucose meter today. My supplier has now changed, but only after I gave my consent. Of course if you NEVER answer them they will keep calling...they are on auto-dialers. Not everyone that calls is a spammer or scammer.

I just received a call from this number.  It is a solicitor.  The person on the other side of the phone had Indian accent.  He asked me "Are you suffering from diabetes, right?". I don't know where they got my number but I'm not even suffered from diabetes, so I believe it is a random calling solicitor.

We get calls from this number everyday. My answering machine decided to quit working in my wonderful AT&T phone. Sometimes I pick up the phone and hang right back up just to stop the ringing and I only do that sometimes. I have arthritis in both knees and bad disk's in my back. No way am I rushing to answer the damn phone. Since we have the biggest crook in history in the White House I guess these companies feel they don't have to identify themselves anymore. What a crock! I would consider getting rid of my land line but my husband being a disabled veteran and feels we need to keep it for when the VA is attempting to contact him that's not an option.

They called on my cell phone about 7:30 tonight and left a  message on my voice mail. When I checked the message there was a female crying.  But said nothing. I called the number back and a female answered the phone in an American accent. When I said that I was returning a call her accent remarkably changed to East Indian. Long story short: She knew that I was on pain medicine and that her company could save me money. I didn't get any details and just hung up. I'm certain she's up to no good.

WHY would ANYONE return a call to an unknown number and get sucked into a scammer's call? The people that do this are commonly known as doopas!
