Asked where they were calling from and the response was New York City. They were offering a free GE wireless Home alarm system and offered to let me talk to the technical section. Area code was California.  Red Flag for me. Hung up

Got a call from these jerks this past Saturday afternoon. I answered the phone and it was an electronic male voice asking me how I was doing today and said that they would be in my area soon giving away free GE Home Security systems. I didn't say anything and the voice asked me if I was still there.......I replied "go F yourself" and hung up. I hate these nuisance calls! Guess it's just ANOTHER ONE to report to donotcall.gov    !    

Gonna have to pull the plug on my landline. Only get weird calls. Did not answer since it was unknown name. Now I am glad I didn't!

Got a call from them. I searched here and I'm glad I didn't answer. These type calls will continue until everybody gets blocking devices. I am thinking of getting one. Shame on AT&T for not letting me block as many calls as I please. The only way to stop these is if they never get answered calls to have the opportunity to scam people. As long as there is profit in it, it will continue.

Called no answer and left no message.

Just got a call from this number and didn't answer it. Glad that all of the other posts told me what it is. I guess the do not call thing that the goverment started years ago doesn't work and never will I guess. Going to get rid of my landline to since I do everything on my cell now and don't need all of this crap.

SPAM  TELEMARKETER...  went into my call blocker     CPR CallBlocker.  All I get is spam calls  
yet the carriers don't do anything to limit this ...  
get a call blocker I'm up to 300 blocked numbers in only 3  - 4 months.

got a call last night, no message left. Why do they bother to call?. I will never answer the phone unless I recognize the number.

I agree with cinthya!!  I never answer a call, unless I recognize the number.  Yes, sometimes the ringing drives me crazy but not crazy enough to spend good money on a call blocker, which will fill up very quickly.  Instead, I do keep a log just in case our government or the telephone companies will ever put a stop to this or start prosecuting these people.  I think we should opt for the inclusion of politicians and charities, to the DNC list (which has long since become a joke).  That said, since 1/1/14, my call blocker, if I had one, would contain 250 numbers, and it's only October!!  And, that doesn't take into consideration multiple calls from a lot of these shysters!!  My call, from this number was received 10/28/14 at 3:24PM.  As previously reported, the caller ID came up as OCC Philippin.  No message left.

Id says OCC PHILIPPIN, area code west coast and I am on east coast, ignored

Numerous phone calls from this number , and when answered noone is there or noone responds.

Caller ID "V............" ... OCT 29 at 5 different times, Eastern time zone… Call blocked after first ring by a free service available to most Internet-based VoIP phone service users(I have Time Warner). 800notes is currently blocking the name of that free service so you will need to Google "No more robocalls" to get more information about N O M O R O B O.

Received a call from this number (323-238-3792) at 9:39 am today. The caller ID stated "Los Angeles CA".  The answering machine picked up but no message was left.

This number called my house phone at 1:04pm (CST) on October 30, 2014. The name on the caller id came up as V03014044000. I don't answer phone calls from numbers I don't know so I let the answering machine take the call. No message was left. After looking up the number and finding out that it's spam I have now put it on my block list.

This number showed on Caller ID as Out of Area. No message was left. I have blocked it on my Panasonic phone.

As reported by other posters, a voice recognition robo call, trolling for suckers for home security systems.  

For blocked calls, we have Verizon Fioz. We called and they instructed us how to block calls by going to our TV. They helped us block the first number step-by-step and said there is no limit on blocked numbers. I would check this out though with a couple of calls. We got someone on the first call out of Arizona and she gave us totally incorrect information. On the second call, we fortunately got someone who was on the ball and seemed accurate in all information passed on to us.

I have started pushing the button to answer and then pushing the button to disconnect.  Seems to work for me.  Must appear that it's not a good working number to them.  I don't get the same numbers calling back all the time.  But then there are eventually the new numbers that call.
