I got the first call from this number asking if I'd be available to accept legal douments.  I hung up as this has been going on for years.  It is an attempt to collect on a Zombie Debt.  Then, I got 3 additional calls from 949-734-3016.  I answered the third call and it was the same young woman.  I told her I had no outstanding debt (as I've told the others, before her) and she said she had to have the papers delivered.  I finally lost it, cursed her out, and told her to bring on the legal documents!  I had old debt that was written off, many years ago.  Any other outstanding debt has been satisfied and other than current bills, I owe nothing. This is really aggravating.  They have even called my husband, at his place of business, about this matter!

Thanks for your note.  I had a suspicion it was these people and they are really backroom dealers.  They lie, pretend to be the sherrif's office, etc.  Now that it is confirmed, I am totally not picking up.

Have been receiving calls from 1-323-247-7362.  They are nothing but scammers trying to get money from you.  They are foreigners, pulling scams on Americans.  DO NOT ANSWER OR CALL THEM BACK.  They try to intimidate you by saying they are legally this and that and serving papers, etc......nothing but scammers with scare tactics.  DO NOT PAY THEM ANY ATTENTION.  JUST HANG UP ON THEM.  They will keep calling and eventually give up when you do not respond to them.  AGAIN,  NOTHING  BUT  FOREIGN  SCAMMERS  TRYING  TO  GET  AMERICAN  MONEY!!!!  SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Do not believe anything they say because they will try and say anything about you to scare you.  They will probably tell you your birthdate, address, spouse name and even your childrens names because all of that is public information and anyone can get that information off the internet.  DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE SCARE YOU.  NOTHING  BUT  SCAMMERS!!!!!!   SCAMMERS!!!!!!!   SCAMMERS!!!!!!!!

They used the '' we need to deliver legal documents'' story on me also. The number comes back up a Magic Jack number which probably overseas. The calls are certainly annoying.

I'm so sick to death of these losers. I am continually getting calls. All I can do is block their numbers, there's a new one every month from a different state. Do not give in to this madness. These people are the absolute scum of the earth and complete and total liars.

I've also been receiving calls from this number and many others like it saying they are lawyers, sheriffs, or county attorneys wanting to collect on a debt. I owe nothing as several years ago I filed bankruptcy and owe no one. These calls have been coming for a year now non stop and they are getting old and they are nothing but scams, when they call saying they are from the sheriffs office i called the office from the number i looked up online and the sheriffs office said they had nothing for me... So if you get calls from this number it truly is nothing but a SCAM!!!!!!

Monument Financial monument-financial.com claims to have purchased very, very old debts from Wells Fargo.  Cliff Thompson was the person I spoke to first.  I asked for the Wells Fargo account number.  He gave me a number but it's missing digits - obviously not an actual Wells Fargo account number.  When I called again to ask for basic information such as their mailing address, their physical address, the President of the company, etc.  the receptionist said she was not allowed to give out that information.  I asked her to transfer me to her HR department.  She transferred me to someone named Christopher Bailey.  He gave me the address, the name of the CEO but would not give me any other information except to say, when I asked for their BBB information and their D&B information, that they were "working on it".  Everything he told me I've listed here in the hope that it will help others combat what is obviously an illegal operation.  In my particular case the debt they are claiming I owe will reach its statute of limitation in just over a month - no wonder we're getting the full  court press on this.  They've even tried to call our family members claiming they are searching for us to serve us legal notice about the debt.   We are also contacting Wells Fargo to alert them to a possible security breach.

Received two calls from this number. One to my home phone and one to my cell. Didn't answer either one. But I've heard of this scam and so I never answer any of them!
