received a supposed call from treasury department @ 6:15 am pacific time.  Someone stating that they were Pete Martin ( with a Hispanic accent) stated that this was my second and final notice.  The IRS does not work this type of matter by phone.

Received a call from "Steve Martin" suggesting I call him back regarding a notice I reportedly ignored from the Treasury Dept.  He asked that I call him to avoid an appearance before a magistrate.  Had a Hispanic accent.  He filled my answering system with repeated calls bearing the same message.

Just got a call from the treasury department.A guy with a hispanic accent said this was a second attempt to reach me and could result in going to court.Really?His name is Steve Martin.

Just received call from Steve Martin 4 times in 1 1/2 hours . How do you get him to stop?

this guy call me say from  treasury department last time he said from FBI in Washington DC he want to get money from you don't call him back.

This is the second attempt, without any action from me would result in action appearing in front of a grand jury.

A man by the name of Steve Martin, from the treasury dept, sounds like a middle eastern accent, and he goes on just like Phil, Jan, etc describe in reports. :( He has already called twice in 45 minutes leaving messages.

A machine called, leaving a recording of a man with a European accent identifying himself as "Steve Martin" leaving a "second and final warning" about something involving the U.S. Treasury Dept. and claimed that ignoring said message would result in being brought in front of a federal court and brought up on charges. Left two or three identical messages before ending its playback.

Steve Martin from Treasury Dept. threatening judicial action if I did not return call. BLOCK!

They have called me several times, Steve Martin. US treasury. Looked it up. I also received an email like this. Scammer. Hispanic accent.

Received same msg from  Steve Martin. What a joke at least I alert my in laws to these call in case they get one.

Steve Martin called me up.  I asked him if he enjoyed being a host on SNL since he enjoys comedy.  I then told him that I would send him the name of a Nigerian prince who could gurantee that he get the money he wanted.  Do people actually fall for this crap?

Caller said they were Steve Martin "second and final warning" about something involving magistrate appearance.Call was for "me" if it was a legitimate call wouldn't they know my name? Scam call leaving messages over and over.

Call from the same number.  Used the name Jerry Coleman.  Claimed US Treasury.

I hope nobody falls for the Steve Martin scam--we don't have magistrate judges where I live--but they probably do in Nigeria or Benin which is probably where this called originiates.  Please, everyone--THIS IS A SCAM!! IGNORE IT! I actually hope he calls me back so I can have some fun with him. Maybe they'll put me on the scammers' do-not-call list.

just for fun answer this call when it comes in..... lots of fun... first pretend like you are scared silly and listen to his tone get tougher and tougher then tell him to get screwed and that you are waiting for the IRS agents to show up at your front door and that you have a loaded shot gun.... If you get a call from a foreign guy named Steve Martin (323-284-5627) ignore it. He called my parents claiming he was with the US Treasury and that my dad messed up on his 2010 taxes, and IRS agents were coming to arrest him so he could stand in front of the magistrate. Obviously, we knew it was a scam. I called to confront him, same guy answered, and he then threatens me and says that he will send the police to my house to arrest me. I asked him what my address was and my parent's address was and obviously he couldn't tell me. I told him I'd save him the trouble of calling the police, and call my husband who's a police officer myself. He hung up on me.

Call blocker might be of some help.  Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd.  Or where there is no caller ID.  There’s  no way to stop the calls from being initiated. Calls originate in India and Pakistan.
